Liked: Area inside Fort

Disliked: The guys try to make as much money as they can. There was only really cold water in the hotel.

Liked: Such a unique place and in a great location since it is inside the fort.

Disliked: It wasn't too communal since there were not many rooms and they were mostly empty. We were there during the off season though, so things might be different in other times.

Liked: Nice old haveli well located inside the fort.

Disliked: not good value for the money. Extra bed vas just a matress in the flor.

Liked: Palace is beautiful, rather museum than guesthouse.

Disliked: This is not a place which used to be. Badly maintained, dirty, blankets full of holes. No glass windows, draft in the room, very cold to sleep in the room without windows in January. Bets are flying inside the palace. We checked out after first night.

Liked: Delightful character hotel in ancient fort, beautifully decorated room, use of rooftop, quiet, private

Disliked: Toilet didn't flush, no hot water and shower was pathetic, asked for towels and ended up having to go and get them ourselves, room was a little awkward with steep steps, unsustainability of tourisme within the Fort, expensive

Liked: Excellent location, BEAUTIFUL old building, everyone was really nice except the desert safari they got arranged for us could have been much cheaper... But they offered to let us stay till late the next day since they were no guests in our room and we were leaving the city in the evening which was very helpful

Liked: Good: -Location is good just inside fort. -Safe.-Room decorationNot good:-Owner forgot to change my money 50Rs. I willing to lost my 50Rs in order to check his honest.-Not clean.-No hot shower !!Recommend if you want to stay in the haveli. But there are a lot of hostels inside fort.

Liked: The most amazing and atmospheric Haveli in Jaisalmer. It's like stepping back in time (in a good way)! Chimmy and his family are superb hosts. You'll want for nothing and Chimmy's father is on hand to tell you the history of the Haveli and the area. In fact, he was being interviewed by National Geographic during our stay.It's a truly beautiful spot, views from the roof are stunning. If you're after 5 star souless air-con and endless telly, it won't necessarily be for you, but if you want to feel like you're part of Jaisalmer's rich history - stay there.We ended up staying longer than planned, and I'd recommend one of the better rooms - Maharani or Maharajah perhaps, though I didn't see into the others. It's worth the little bit extra.Hotel Suraj was my favourite stay, and Jaisalmer my favourite place in India.

Liked: Fantastic location right next to the Jain Temples within the old fort. We had an amazing ensuite room with painted walls full of character. We booked online and asked for the free pick up which is available - this proved invaluable when we arrived at the train station in avoiding all the touts! Chimmy organised our camel ride and night in the desert which was good fun, also our bus tickets to Jodhpur and recommended a good place to stay here. All in all, a great choice of hotel and can fully recommend.

Liked: It was an unusual place with alot of character as it is situated within the fort. The location is very good and its 1min walk from the Jain Temples. (please note- its not reccommended that you stay in the fort as pressure from water supplies is eroding the fort. We were not aware of this until we got there) The room was really big with basic furniture and they provide mosquito coils. There is a western toilet but you have to use a bucket of water to flush it!
