Liked: This place literally is a palace. Although it is small (only 4 rooms) once in your room you feel like royalty. It is a real step back into the history of Jaisalmer.

Disliked: We were there at the end of the season, so it was getting very hot. The room didn't have A/C so was a little warm at night. I believe they are fitting A/C to the rooms this summer, so this probably will not be a problem in the future.

Liked: The staff were so amazingly helpful. I had lost baggage in Delhi and they went out of there way to help me, making phone calls on my behalf and acting as a translator - So good that I managed to get my luggage found! They let me use the internet for free and it was a good connection. They upgraded me at no cost to a better room. They gave me an Indian dress to wear as all I had were the clothes on me. The room was so clean and amazing. I have no hesitation recommending this place and I would definitely stay again. I really trust these people and I think they would do anything for you.

Disliked: The lock on the door could be improved. Also, there was no air con in my room and at this time of the year it is HOT! Other than that a brilliant place to stay.

Liked: The staff was very helpful and generous. We arrived very early on an overnight train, and they had a driver waiting for us who sped us to the hotel's door. We were given a room to relax in while our room became ready and then helped move our stuff to the new room - all with a smile and some masala chai tea. Our departure was on an evening train the next day, and again they made sure that we were able to relax while waiting. Very, very friendly.

Disliked: The mosquitoes managed to sneak into the room via the cracks around the wood shutters - while the room was pretty authentic looking, this detail could be improved as the spray repellent did not seem to work that well. Also, the bed fit exactly into the space between 2 pillars and that made it just 6fr in length, so anyone taller would have to let their feet hang over the end of the bed.

Liked: The rooms are stunning in this hotel and make you feel like you are staying somewhere very grand (note there arent the typical luxuries such as tvs but the character of the rooms more than makes up for this), views are excellent. The hotel is run by a family who are very helpful as are the staff. We arrived at 6am and were allowed to check in early at no extra charge and were given complimentary breakfast. also has restaurant outside forte which serves good food.other jaisaimlerGood restaurant at foot of forte called ganpati, worth waiting for the food, which is homemade and very reasonable.In the forte on the same street as shreenath palace hotel is a good italian restaurant serving excellent pizzas - also reasonable.Excellent ice cream parlour on gandesh road (on way to gandesh lake) in most guide books serving various icecreams and drinks, v cheap and clean.

Liked: The hotel is 450 years old so it has a lot of charm & history. Staff are very helpfull.

Liked: A magnificient property (very intimate - only 5 rooms) where you can feel like a Maharaja for a couple of days! The windows of our room overlooked the Jain Temples (spectacular views). There are varying opinions about staying "inside the Fort" but if you choose to do so, this is an excellent property.

Liked: To stay in a 500 year old fort house in Jaisalmer India was such a privilege. In no way could anywhere reproduce this with a modern property. We truly spent two nights with the Maharajahs! However, at over 60, our knees took time to recover from the extremely high stone steps, but so glad we stayed.

Liked: We enjoyed the ambience and the beautiful decor to match the history and character of this havelli. The owner and his sons were extremely helpful and the staff also. Nothing was too much trouble. It is in a very quiet location, so we slept well. Also although there is no restaurant at the hotel, the Palace View restaurant next door is worth a mention as it is simple, clean, good views and good food. The Shreenath Palace can be highly recommended by us.

Liked: We wish there was a "Excellant!" category - Shreenath Palace would definitely qualify. We had a lovely stay - probably our favorite in our 3 weeks in India. The room was large and comfortable and the atmosphere and decor of the room was superb! we even had lovely views of the city and Jain temples from just outside our windows.Raj and Omji are wonderful & gracious hosts -- you will feel like you are staying with dear friends or family. Go to Jaisalmer and stay at the Shreenath!Sky & Patty Williamson, Durham, NC USA

Liked: It is located in beautiful house. We had booked plain room, but were given one of those stylish and nice ones for the same price. Free pick up was arranged through another hostel, together with their incoming guests. Owner was very helpful and nice, he offered us possibility to keep our backpacks there after checkout, as well as some rest time before leaving for train. Very nice touch, as Jaisalmer is very hot in November. I would recommend this place to my friends.

Liked: beautiful old house in the fort, close to good restaurant, helpful owners, best place we stayed for the whole of our holiday, would love to go back. view out of the bedroom window was of he Jain temple. room warm, but fan helped. clean bathroom, hot water in shower. owners gave lots of good advice, organised breakfasts for us, and were interesting to sit and chat with.
