This place literally is a palace. Although it is small (only 4 rooms) once in your room you feel like royalty. It is a real step back into the history of Jaisalmer.

Overview

Prime Minister House Of Jaisalmer This beautiful 450-year-old haveli was once inhabited by the prime minister under the maharaja. the gorgeous archways, alluring alcoves, sizable rooms opening onto small balconies and rich ambiance must have been grand back in the old days.

SHREE NATH PALACE FORT JAISALMER
Heritage Haveli Hotel in jaisalmer
Shree Nath Palace is a wonderful example of an old Rajasthani haveli, set in the golden fort of Jaisalmer.

What is a haveli? It is a large house often built by wealthy merchants in Rajasthani towns and cities in North India, with beautiful, ornate sandstone carvings. Some havelis are many hundreds of years old, and some are still being built. In Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, there are many elaborate havelis carved from golden sandstone. Some of the most famous have many floors and countless rooms, with decorated windows, archways, doors and balconies. Some havelis are today museums but most in Jaisalmer are still lived in by the families that built them, and a good example of this is Shree Nath Palace in the Fort.

The Vyas family built this lovely haveli in the 15th Century, and descendants of this family live here today. Shree Nath Palace was once inhabited by the Prime Minister of Jaisalmer, and you are invited to stay in these rooms – there are only five available for the hotel – and join the Vyas family in enjoying this architectural treasure, and feel like a Maharaja for a few days. . Some of the doors and ceilings are wonderful examples of old carved wood from many hundreds of years ago. Some of the doors have brass or iron fittings.

The Palace is a treasure trove of gorgeous archways, delicate alcoves, amazing rooms, small and large balconies, winding staircases leading to rooftop with spectacular views all around the Fort, the city and to the desert beyond. The Maharaja’s Palace, the Jain Temples, the Surya temple, Laxminath temple and Gadisar Lake are all there for your eyes to enjoy. It is a wonderful spot to enjoy both sunset and sunrise. After the Maharaja’s Palace, Shree Nath is the largest haveli in the Fort, and probably the most beautiful hotel in jaisalmer.

SHREE NATH PALACE HAVELI ROOMS

You can choose from a Maharaja Room, Maharani Room or Mughal Room. They are all the same size.

Maharaja Room:

This wonderful room is our largest and most beautiful room with an open courtyard in the centre, has middle pillars and archways, and a huge carved wooden bed. It has five windows with two balconies, all elaborately carved and decorated. It has wonderful doors and ceiling. Two windows face the Jain temples. The room has Rajasthani furnishings, bedcovers and cushions. As all rooms there is a private modern bathroom with hot and cold water.

Maharani Room:
This delightful room also has a modern bathroom, wonderful colourful furnishings and bedcovers and traditional furniture. There are two windows with street views inside the Fort, with two balconies for your enjoyment. This was originally a room for the ladies of the family, with a smaller room inside for their privacy.

Mughal Room:
This has architecture in the Mughal style, including a carved ceiling with ivory from the 15th Century. This room has three balconies, one side facing the street and one side the Jain temple. Sumptuous Rajasthani furnishings and a modern bathroom complete this room for you, one of the Prime Minister’s own private suite.

Rajasthani Rooms:
Two simpler rooms complete the hotel for our guests. These rooms also have modern attached bathrooms and Rajasthani furnishings.
