Liked: The old part has loads of character and an amazing view of Darjeeling and the mountains on a clear day!

Disliked: It is over priced and has no heating in the 'character' building, I mean its absolutely freezing even colder than outside, they wanted 400 rupees for a small electric heater!

Liked: Very much in the centre of things, you get what you pay for and a little more, reasonably clean

Disliked: No wi fi in rooms (this is however common with most budget places all over India) , cold rooms, but sufficient blankets to keep you warm at night once your body warms up the bed.

Liked: Several of my friends (American college students) booked a reservation for one night while backpacking through Darjeeling and Sikkim. We ended up expanding our reservation and staying an extra night because we both liked Old (main) Bellevue as well as Darjeeling so much! The place has some charm, is very quiet and slightly removed (in feeling and noise, but not distance) from the hustle of the city. The staff was accommodating and pleasant but filled out the passport paper work slower than any other hostel/hotel I've ever stayed at. Has a good view but because the fog is so think in Darjeeling (at least when we went in May) it's hard to see much beyond the city limits so it's very doubtful you'll see many mountains. There's also a great little Tibetan restaurant just a few blocks away with out-of-this-world momos.

Disliked: The rooms are pretty standard and slightly musty but clean and pretty charming. This hostel is slightly on the pricey side of things but worth the money for at least a night or two to clean up and relax. A good place for families, decent for romantic, and good for backpackers looking for a splurge hostel to clean up and sleep well.

Liked: This is my first time booking accomodation through net. But Old (Main) Bellevue Heritage Hotel in Darjeeling was really excellent. It is excellently placed in the center of Darjeeling (for outsiders, this would be a real blessing). Have good vegetarian outlets (Hasty Tasty) quite close by. Can have a evening shopping in the market which is just as you step out of the hotel. Excellent place to stay in and good ambience. Important thing is the people there (Siddarth and Preetam) were very courteous. It is a place to stay in and i would definetly recommend for future.
