About Tag und Nacht
There is a nice balcony on the property to watch the stars from. There is also a common "sitting room" for the guests to relax, meet each other, drink their tea or read a book.
We are situated in a silent & quiet family-friendly area in Mackenzie garden, only 20 minutes walk from the centre and near to the beach (800 m), right opposite the famous Naval Maritime Museum.
"Tag und Nacht" have 2 double/twin rooms each with own WC & shower attached, 24 hours hot water and reading lights. There are both A/C and non- A/C rooms.
The tripple room that is suitable for a family or a smaller circle of friends has also a bath tub, cable TV, A/C.
On the ground floor there is a single room with comfortable bed, ceiling fan, reading light and attached bathroom.
Internet (both cable & wi-fi) is available and included when you book with us.
Laundry, airport pick-up, bicycle, backwater boat-trips, concert tickets (Kathakali, traditional Indian dance & music, Kerala Marshal arts), breakfast - all available on request, but is not included in the room rate.
We can give good advice (about Fort Kochi, Kerala & India!) Introduce to local people & organisations, help to organise your further travels, sightseeing, boat-tours, concert-tickets etc.
We also arrange tour packs through Kerala and South India. We guide to best yoga, Kalaripayattu and massage masters.

Mackenzie Garden, K.J Herschel Road (former Beach Road), Cochin - 682001
"Tag und Nacht" is located in Mackenzie Garden Fort Kochi on the main road rounding the peninsula. The main road - K.J. Herschel Road (formerly known as Beach Road) is leading both to the Fort Kochi Beach & Promenade (800m from "Tag und Nacht"), as well as to the downtown where the most of the restaurants and shops are located.
We are in 10 min. walking distance from the Beach and 15-20 min. to the very Centre. We hope you will appreciate being a little bit outside the crowd and gladly use an autoricshaw (5 min. drive) if necessary or bicycle or a scooter to easen your way.
There are plenty of things to see and experience in Fort Kochi. Romantic and historically charged architecture (the whole Mathancherry district!), and centuries of mixed cultures - Portuguese, Dutch, English, Malayalam. More attractions include temples & churches, the Promenade Beach with 13th century Chinese fishing nets (still working!), spice & fish market, Ayurvedic health & massage parlours, and magnificent house-boats for the backwaters tours. There are even elephant-washing tours on offer! It is a creative place with lots of art galleries and Kathakali - a traditional Kerala dance-theatre performance, Indian instrumental music and nice, tourist-friendly people.
There are a great variety of restaurants - you can find both the fancy ones and the simple local establishments for an authentic taste and atmosphere. There is also a possibility to buy the fish at the market and get it prepared for you at the counter nearby.
And shopping, shopping, shopping...within a reach of a hand.
