Liked: The staff attempted to be helpful and were pleasent

Disliked: The state and condition of the room. Being placed next to the generator. Lack of maintenance, the room was not cleaned nor the towels/.bedding replaced

Liked: Good room, normal price, symphatic director.

Disliked: Some people working in this hostel are a little bit strange, not very smiling. Seeing their face, they seem waiting for money, but without reason, and without service...

Liked: The staff is fairly helpful but otherwise our room was dirty (especially the bathroom!) and it's a bit far from the airport or train stations.

Liked: This is definitely not a good place to visit.When you have to pay your bill they say that your deposit which you have paid through hostelbookers, is not for them, so you have to pay it again. They are not very honest. You also have to pay an extra deposit for the room which they will not return either. It is not about big amounts, but it is about the idea. Furthermore their reception is crowded with employees who will all carry one of your bags, in the end you have to tip them all. After all this little amounts you can better spend your money in a better hotel. Because it is very low standard here. besides the bad value, the employees in the reception were staring at lady travel mates, who felt actually a little intimidated by them.So my advice is to look further, I am not that disappointed soon.

Liked: 24h-Check In funktioniert - sind um 03:00 am Morgen gelandet und alles lief perfekt.Ruhige Lage im Hinterhof trotz sehr belebter Verkaufsstrasse.Freundliches und kooperatives Management.Indisches Restaurant im EG mit freundlichem Personal und gutem Dosai-Frühstück.Gute Adresse für Traveller, wenn man zur Unzeit ankommt und einen einfachen Start in den Tag braucht.

Liked: The staff were fantastic. We arrived in Chennai with nothing booked, Hotel Melody not only accommodated us straight away they were helpful with Rickshaws, getting a cheap taxi, directions etc.They were so friendly and even let me use their phone to change a flight even though their reception was very busy.DONT let the cheap price put you off - we have stopped at some terrible hotels/hostels in India that have cost a hell of a lot more! I woud definitely recommend this hotel - if ever we visit Chennai again we will definitely stay here.Many thanks to all the staff, you are wonderful!Catherine and Jade from England

Liked: While the roms were rather drab and unclean, the staff were very genuine and helpful. At one point they called my partner and I a rickshaw and negotiated a very reasonable price. They were also very helpful when we needed to book our train tickets. Not a terrible place if you have to be in Chennai for one or two nights. Any longer however, and you are best looking elsewhere
