Liked: Excellent value for money, staff were very friendly and the butter chicken was probably the best meal I have ever had in my life! They also arranged very cheap tours to the Atari / Wagar border display and the Golden Temple at night. Definitely go back to this hotel, without a doubt!

Liked: The hotel is in a good location, if you are looking to get a train (especially early in the morning).

Disliked: The room was in not too good a state for the price (but they were re-furbishing when we were visiting). We took one of their tours to see the border ceremony, and found it disapointing, as the driver left late, and as a consequence we had a view of backs of people's heads instead of the ceremony itself. The tour is also quite expensive. The food was also expensive when compared to prices found in other restaurants in Amritsar.

Liked: Was intially worried about this hotel after reading some terrible hostelbookers reviews, however I was very pleasantly surprised! The reception area is very clean and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and helpful, as a female traveller I left the hotel late at night alone to nip to the supermarket about 20metres away that the staff directed me to, when stepping outside the hotel I was bombarded with attention (unwanted), the doorman having seen this came out of the hotel and walked me to the market to make sure I got there and returned safely and hassle free which I greatly appreciated! The rooms were large and some of the cleanest I've seen in India. The garden cafe was also a fantastic setting to eat and chillout. The food from the restaurant was very nice.

Disliked: The only downside of this hotel that I can think of is the location. It is about a 20-30 minute rickshaw journey to the main sights (golden temple, jallianwala bagh etc). However the hotel is directly opposite the train station, which was fantastic as we had to catch the 05.40am train to Delhi!

Liked: Brilliant location just opposite the train station, however the manager has a real dislike for people who book through hostelbookers - you end up paying more as they put on 10% tax charge which is not shown particularly clearly when you book. We met a couple who turned up on the off chance and they were paying 600rupees a night rather than the standard 1200! One computer available for the internet which is very very slow and has to be paid for. Good tour given in the afternoons but the staff linger around for tips and the food isn't great. I'd say there is better in Amritsar.

Liked: Rooms around inner courtyard.Did not like cockroach in my breakfast - staff did not seem to appreciate that I did not want a replacement breakfast.

Liked: Clearly extra work was being done to improve the standard of this one time luxury hotel situated opposite the main railway station.The addition of an ?english style pub next door added a better di-mention for drinking and eating. The interior courtyard was pleasant to reture to in the evenings.

Liked: It is at very good location. It is just opposite train station.Even if it is a little bit far from main attration (Golden Temple) but it is very convenience for those who travel by train.

Liked: Its location - just across the road from the train station. A downside were the coach roaches in our room upon arrival. Also the night staff don't have a clue or speak english which when you are trying to determine whether or not you can check in early to avoid incurring an extra night charge problematic.
