Liked: Good and Clean Hostel. Staff are friendly Rooms are great, dorms with curtains are rare but def. worth it

Disliked: Not many power points Lift was very temporimental LOADS of German Only speaking tourists. Not that great if u speak only english

Liked: fairly close to the reeperbahn, dorms can come cheap during the week, and generally a good location

Disliked: is really more of a hotel. not many backpackers, was actually mainly german families and groups. but still a good place, and one of the few options in hamburg

Liked: Loved the clean rooms, sheets, the fact you got a personal shower / toilet in your dorm, and the fact I was able to get a really good nights sleep every night I was there

Disliked: Difficult to meet people because of the multi-language barrier; not something that could really be helped but it would have been nice to have been grouped with people who spoke the same language. Not a huge issue for me though, as my purpose of being in Hamburg was to see a few friends I had there, so i wasnt desperate to meet people

Liked: This was the best place I stayed during my travel around Germany. Everything is great.

Disliked: I loved everything in this place.

Liked: Clean hostel, nice rooms, good wifi connection.

Disliked: some of the reception staff need more training and need to be kept up to date with new info/changes eg. we nearly missed out on the free walking tour because one staff member didnt tell the other staff member that the lady called and couldnt pick us up for the walking tour and that we had to catch a train. If we hadnt asked where the lady was second time we would have missed out. When asked where the closest supremarket was, a staff member directed us to the train station area, however we found an excellent, cheap and large supermarket right behind the hostel. Kitchen should have more things in it like plates, bowls, cuttlery, we had to get stuff from the breakfast room.

Liked: Very clean, comfortable, safe! Curtains around the beds and individual lights, free wifi, 5 minute walk from the train station and close to handy shops :)

Disliked: Nothing, really. It was a little bit expensive but probably only because we were staying on a Saturday night!

Liked: Eventhough more like a hotel than a hostel, Meininger was good value for money. Clean facilities and nicely run. The level of customer service varies a bit depending on the staff member, but on average helpful and competent staff.

Disliked: There's no proper common room in the hostel and thus it is not the ideal place to meet people.

Liked: Good rooms, personal light and curtain, with 1 shower and 1 toilet per dorm. Good location.

Disliked: Poorly equipped and small kitchen, little crockery and cutlery - 2 bowls, reception werent helpful when i asked if i could borrow one bowl from the 6 euro breakfast buffet

Liked: It was like a hotel but with strangers in your room. It was nice, I wouldn´t say exceptionally nice, but you get a lot for the cheap price you pay. Large rooms, each with privacy. The bunk beds had curtains and there was a small room inside the room where we stayed. There were two single beds pushed together in the middle of the room with no curtain. Also, there is an elevator so you don´t have to walk up any stairs. They don´t have free breakfast, but they did have an all you can eat buffet for around 7euros.

Disliked: Because it is advertised as a hotel, a lot of familes or people who think they are staying in a legit hotel are there. So its not a very backpacker hostel. However, we did meet people there, its huge so there are people to meet. And the kitchen was very dirty most of the time - but that was from the guests, because I do think it was cleaned often- but it was unequiped. Barely and dishes, small, not well lit, no toaster, and usually only one person can be cooking at a time.

Liked: Very cheap and clean hostel. Dorms are recommended! (but bring ear plugs)

Disliked: Too little electricity supply for computers in the lobby.

Liked: It was in a good location in that it was a close walk from altona station and from the nice young area but it wasn't vey close to the city center. It was a 10 minute train ride in fact. But in all honesty the nice part to go to cafes etc was not in the city center at all. City center is a good place to visit but it is nicer to be near the cute bars and shops.

Disliked: The kitchen had practically nothing in it. One teaspoon two bowls no knives other than butter knives. It was fairly useless and you could only eat when no one else was eating for lack of plates and bowls.

Liked: It was a really cheap, clean place to stay. We only stayed there for one night and that was good, because we had some really noisy and chatty room-mates, but all in all it was a really god stay! Also the free Wifi in the lobby is a real plus!

Liked: The hostel is very easy to find, the staff is very friendly and the overyll impression we got was that the hotel is very nice!

Disliked: I didn't like that you can check in from 3 p.m. That's a little late I think, but as you can leave your luggage in a luggageroom that was okay I guess. The floor in our room was very sticky. I didn't get why though, because it wasn't dirty per se...it was only very sticky.Al
