Liked: Almost everything. The location was great, the staff was nice and helpful in time of need, the breakfest was good. Wasn't THAT cheap, but definitely worth the money. Room was big and nice.

Disliked: There was only ONE plug-in, and we were three people. And there was only a few lights (one of them needed to be plugged in, too.)

Liked: Avalon Hotel is great value for your money! Rooms are spacious and clean, towels were changed every day, breakfast was more than we had ever expected (instead of something very simple, you'll get different types of cereal, yoghurts, croissants, pastries, bread, fresh juice etc.). The hotel staff is very nice and helpful, and the hotel itself is very calm (you can really get a good night sleep there). Locationwise it's perfect, too - located just next to the main train station Gare du Nord, and therefore well connected with all main underground lines + local train to/from Charles de Gaulle airport. Would definitely recommend Avalon Hotel for other travellers!

Disliked: Quite frankly, don't have a thing to complain about this hotel. Even the wireless internet worked perfectly, also in the rooms, so no complaints! :)

Liked: The room was fairly efficient (small, but with amenities) and seemed clean to me (although my wife disagrees). The location next to the train station was convenient and the free breakfast and internet access was great. The wired internet was 10 times better than the wireless signal, however. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and spoke English well.

Disliked: The shower lacked any type of curtain or barrier from the rest of the bathroom so it was difficult to keep the rest of the place dry during a shower. Also, the faucet leaked prior to the sink so it ended up dripping down off the counter to the floor and there was a giant black spot on the wooden shelf which I'm hoping wasn't black mold. The problem obviously has been there for a while and has never been fixed. The doors in the hotel are rigged to slam shut and they sound throughout the hotel which can cause some sleepless nights.

Liked: Rooms were clean and we were upgraded which was nice. Having breakfast included was a positive.

Disliked: Bathroom doors slammed shut and other room doors could be heard slamming throughout the hotel at all hours.

Disliked: - Dining room is small for the amount of guests for breakfast - Corridors bit noisy in the morning if you are trying to sleep.

Liked: Very close to gare do nord. Good .We got a good room with balcony. Room is clean. They will clean daily.Breakfast was ok. Good Buffet, no options for non-veg. We arrived early and our room was ready.

Liked: Clean, good service, good breakfast (buffet-style, with cereal, pastries/croissants, yoghurts, coffee etc), decent rooms with good showers, free wifi available, plus free to use computer/printer in the lobby. Very close to Gare du Nord and other metro stations.

Disliked: Location-wise, if I go to Paris again I would probably try to find somewhere in the Latin Quarter, with a bit more chatracter and more central to Paris. While Hotel Avalon is well connected, the surrounding area is not the best.

Liked: It is very close to Gare du Nord and Gare du l'est train stations, as well as other metro stations.

Disliked: The walls were very thin. My room was right next to the lift, and it made a loud rumbling noise every time it moved or stopped on my floor. The rooms have not been maintained as well as other places I've stayed at. There are cracks in corners, hair on the floor, and the room had a musty,, urine smell. I would tolerate all this if I didn't have to pay as much I did. I've stayed at higher-end hotels in other cities that were cheaper than this hotel.

Liked: It's really close to Gare du Nord and it's an easy 20-30 minute walk to the main sights of Paris or quicker with the Metro. Really handy if you're arriving or leaving the city by Eurostar. Our room was really nice and had a mini kitchen and nice sized bathroom. The breakfast is continential and enough to get you going for the day. Midday checkout is great as well.

Liked: The location is really good. Hotel stays near Gare du Nord. Staff is friendly and the breakfast is good (a lot of things to eat). We had free wifi in our room. It's clean.

Liked: The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. internet was free of charge. room was bit small but its okay if you only have one big luggage.

Disliked: The smell in the toilet when we just entered the room was awful. it smelled like drains. maybe they have poor draining system.
