Liked: Great caracter, huge bedrooms with classic and good taste decoration, friendly staff and very next to the city centre.

Disliked: The biggest bad point is the street where the hotel is located, the rue des Récollettes is one of the most dodgy places that I ever been in France, absolutely unsafe, dirty and full of weird/suspicious people, most of the them, poor immigrants. I definitely didn't liked. The breakfast is average, some cheese and ham would be great.

Liked: The reception staff were really helpful and friendly.

Disliked: The big problem with this hotel is that is is so noisy. We were in room 11 (rooms 11 and 12) are located right by reception and over looking the front of the hotle, this means that you can hear all the noise of the reception and the road. The market starts setting up at 5.30 am. I did not sleep at all being a light sleeper. As we checked out I noticed that they sell earplugs on reception, so i feel that others have complained about this. DON'T STAY IF YOU ARE A LIGHT SLEEPER!

Liked: Good location. We took a cab from the station and it took about 5 minutes. Seems like a bit of a trecherous walk from the station though (if you have luggage). The hotel is right in the centre and about a 3 minute walk to the port. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were very nice for the 36euro we paid per person.

Disliked: Not much to dislike about it really!

Liked: The location in the city center.

Disliked: Even if we were in the city center, it was not a safe, clean area, it was full of rubbish. The elevator didn't work and so we have to carry our luggage for 5 floors! (The guy at the reception helped us but it was not a good surprise). The moquette of the room needed to be changed and the bidet leaked. One guy at the reception was a bit rude and the other one, even if helpful and friendly, seemed to have forgotten that I had already paid a deposit for the hotel.

Liked: just such a good location, right in the heart of all you want to see in Marseille

Disliked: we arriver with too many bags and the lift was out of order, as we were located on the top floor the staff helped out with carring up many stairs.

Liked: The location was very good for the train station, metro, and port. The hotel rooms were small but cute and had a nice charm to them.

Disliked: We did not like the cleanliness of the city and the people seemed a little sketchy at night around the hotel.

Liked: It was a great hotel! It was a great value for the money. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the hotel was quiet. The consierge was extremely helpful and let us store our bags there after we checked out. There are many restaurants around the area of the hotel and it is just a few blocks from Vieux Port.

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Centrally located, a few steps away to shopping srea as well as Vieux Port. Wifi is free in the room but it was too weak (i stayed at 5th floor) Good Breakfast ( at the price of Euro 8)

Liked: This is an excellent hotel in a superb location, just a couple minutes walk to Marseille's Old Port. It is walking distance to St Charles train station. The room was nice and well equiped, it was clean, had a flat screen tv, and other amenities you'd expect at bigger more established hotels. Staff is friendly and helpful. The location is just top-notch and you can find everything you need within a 5 minutes walk.

Disliked: Nothing to dislikes, it'a very good value, great location, and frankly you'll have a hard time finding better value in Marseille.

Liked: The staff are really great, particularly Stephane, and the location is central and still close to transport/ rooms are really nice and we even had a private balcony.

Disliked: nothing...except the fire alarm going off at seven am as a false alarm!

Liked: This hotel was excellent and only 10 minutes walk from the station. We stayed in a twin room which had two very comfy beds, bedside tables, a wardrobe with extra blankets, a table, a tv, hairdryer, and radio with ipod docking on it so we could play music. It had an ensuite bathroom which was surprisingly large. Everything was clean and lovely, and we didn't have any noise disturbance from other rooms or outside the hotel (although the rooms at the front may be noisier?). The window opened out onto what looked like a building site in a side street, but luckily while we were there no work seemed to be happening. Breakfast cost 8 euros but was worth it- fresh orange juice, croissants, bread, eggs, fresh coffee, etc. The best thing about the hotel was the staff- especially the one female member of staff we talked with- who was extremely friendly and helpful- thank you :)

Disliked: There wasn't anything to complain about really- it could have been made even better for us if there were facilities to cook our own food. Also it isn't really the kind of place where you can meet other people travelling unless you feel very brave about striking up a conversation over breakfast.

Liked: The location of this hotel was perfect! It made it really easy to explore all the city had to offer by simply walking to each destination. The neighboring streets were full of colorful shops and open air street markets. Very close to the port, metro stations, train stations, and sights. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would gladly stay here again. The nearby bars and shops held friendly staff that were willing to try and communicate with you even if you can't speak French. The hotel staff were very helpful and didn't hesitate to answer any questions we had.
