Liked: Ian, Jay and Jamie are the perfect hosts, we had the run of the accommodation witch allowed us to get to know our hosts a little bit. The food was homely and delicious especially the potatoes on our Sunday dinner, props to whoever made them. The property was clean, tidy and cozy and there was plenty of space, the family enjoyed their weekend and i would gladly come back.

Disliked: The only thing that was a problem was the parking on occasion but that's to be expected in blackpool.

Liked: Really good location for a family. Close to a little park, and only 1 street back from the promenade, tram stop close by, but really quiet at night. Really great welcome from hosts and lots of excellent tea and coffee (thanks Jamie), definitely a home from home. Ian and Jeanne are very family-orientated and nothing was too much trouble for little ones. They were very knowledgeable about the resort, and recommended the circus, and gave us discount vouchers. It was a really great show. Hotel very clean, we stayed in room 2, very nicely decorated and furnished, and with a compact en-suite. Clean towels provided unexpectedly after one night.Can't complain at that ! Grandson shared another room with parents, it felt quite ok to put him to bed and go back downstairs to watch TV in the lounge/bar and chat, because the premises feel very safe because of the type of clientele. Full English breakfast was served in the redecorated dining room, and it was as much or as little as you wanted of it. Plenty of variety, and well cooked and presented.Different options available, including pancakes for children if they prefer them to bacon etc. Ian moved his car so we could park outside when we arrived, much appreciated as parking in most Blackpool is a bit hit and miss. There's even a well stocked corner shop just up the street for newspapers and any toiletries etc you forgot to pack. I looked at lots of places before I booked this hotel, some of which were cheaper, but I saw some of them while I was there and was really glad I spent a few pounds more to be out of the rowdy 'stags and hens' area. That's fine for adults, but it's really not good if you're taking children with you.

Disliked: I can't think of anything I would have expected to be different. Good value and clean (safe ) accommodation, what more can you want?

Liked: The owners are brilliant hosts. They love looking after backpackers and go out of their way to make their guests' experiences positive. It is a small place but very friendly and social and excellent value for money.

Liked: If you are planning a trip to Blackpool you must definitely book a room in this hotel! It's located in a very quiet part of town but at the same time it's close to everything. The rooms were cosy and clean as was the bathroom. Breakfast was very nice too, you could ask whatever you'd like and they'd prepare it for you the next morning. They were truly the most hospitable owners I've ever met. I was travelling alone and they've made me feel very much at home.Definitely a recommendation!

Liked: Mayfield Hotel has got to be one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The staff are so friendly and so memorable; almost to great to be true! I was a guest at Mayfield hotel last year and I knew that I had to come back to visit, and it was just as wonderful this time around too. I met some more great people, and had the opportunity to catch up with old friends. I highly, highly recommend the Mayfield Hotel!

Liked: The hosts were just so amazingly friendly that it was as if I was staying right at home. They really helped me out in getting around town and even helped me get my luggage to the bus station! The breakfasts were amazing, and it was fun and easy to meet other guests over the meal. Definitely an inviting atmosphere and the room was supremely comfortable!
