Liked: Definitely the jewel of the Nile. Book here and you won't be disappointed, it is a small boutique hotel that is quiet but just across the street from the ferry that is only a 1 LE ferry ride that takes 2 minutes to downtown Luxor. The ferries run continuously so don't let being on the west bank deter you plus there are many local shops on the west bank too (but I don't think any ATM's). You will enjoy a view of the nile or the pool from your room and they are well kept, clean and comfortable. You even get a bathtub and fridge which we loved after all the hostels we had stayed in lately! Free WiFi, free breakfast and the pool is its own little oasis. We took a cab from the train station to the hotel on our arrival but you are much better off to just get a cab to the ferry and ride it over. You won't miss the hotel and you would pay about 20 LE instead of 100 LE which is what we did on our way back.

Liked: The location on Luxor's west bank is excellent if you want a slightly quieter location. It's the closest to the Nile of all the west bank hotels and provides beautiful views at sunrise.
