Liked: Fantastic place to stay. Staff were friendly and helpful and insured that we had a wonderful time. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortableBooked lots of tours/activities through the hostel, very reasonablyMr. reggae Really awesome guy to know in Egypt Very intelligent and cares alot about the people he hosts.. He is the one person that you can always rely on to help you if. you are in need, the one person that can provide you with local knowledge about his city and about the history & background of the tourist attractions in his town.Reggae gives us a lot of useful advice, genreal information not only of Luxor, but all of Egypt .very cozy roof-terrace, where we relaxed, had drinks and enjoyedsun sunrise and sunsetso much fun. I would highly recommend this hostel Would recommend this property to other travelers?

Liked: Cheap, good value for money. Reggae helped us organise a felucca ride and also our trip to abu simbel. felucca ride is just as easy to organise yourself, just walk down to the river and you can bargain a good price with all the boats down there. Reggae and the other staff were very friendly, but he was often very vague, so make sure you are certain of all details when you organise anything through reggae. he is a business person, and you have to realise that when he organises something he is not doing it for nothing, but he did not try to rip us off, and the hassle he saved us was worth the little extra commission he adds on for himself. he booked us train tickets for instance that we could not book ourselves, and needed a local to book for us, which was really useful. great atmosphere and the rooftop was a cool place to chill and hang out and meet people, although not many guests when we were there. reggae let us use the ancient washing machine for no charge which was greatly appreciated!! the included breakfast had a fried egg which was a nice change from the standard egyptian breakfast! i would recommend this hostel, just be alert, know your prices, do your research, and you wont get ripped off!

Liked: fantastic place to stay... good location near the train station .luxor templeand The staff is amazingly Travelling as a single woman you have concerns travelling alone, but I felt completely safe.The hostel was very clean, I had my own private bathroom and the rooftop patio is a nice hang out to chill in the evenings. MR reggea always willing to help with any needs you have and he also organized my trip to see the sites and a hot air balloon ride at sun-rise100% recommend and would love stay there again.

Liked: Ragaee, who works at the hotel, came to pick us up from the bus station and waited for our arrival for over two hours. After spending 18+ hours on a bus it was SO nice to have someone waiting with a clear sign with my name on it. Luxor is full of touts but the staff at the New Everest takes every chance to make your stay comfortable, accomidating to your budget and helps you arrange tours and even hotels for your next destination. The rooms are clean and very nice sized, with hot and cold water, which is something rare to find in Egypt. There is a free breakfast that consists of more than just a cup of tea and a piece of bread...it is a breakfast that actually fills you up and prepares you for a full day of sightseeing. There is also free internet use and a rooftop terrace where you can sit and relax at the end of a long hot day in the sun. Most importantly Ragaee speaks nearly 10 languages, which needless to say creates an efficient environment when figuring out rates for tours etc. This is a fabulous place to stay and definitely great value for your money!
