Liked: This hostel thankfully was accurately portrayed on the website. The rooftop pool and bar/restaurant was clean, friendly and courteous. The food was excellent, service was good, and all rooftop staff were helpful and friendly, especially if you made an attempt at a little arabic which was received with enthusiastic smiles. The reception staff spoke reasonable english. One girl, Eman I think was her name, was particularly helpful and spoke and wrote good english, among other languages. We asked for a quiet room, which was at the back of the hotel, but you still had a view of the Nile. The air-conditioning, TV, fridge, shower, toilet were all in good working order, and cleaning staff did a good job, leaving us with towels in the shape of different animals. Breakfast was buffet, a fairly good selection, eggs made to your preference, constant supply of tea/coffee, in an air-con restaurant. Location - was about a 15 minute walk to Luxor temple, you just had to avoid the Calesh and taxi drivers who are very insistent. The only disappointment was one particular staff member from the restaurant who approached us outside the hotel touting for money. The hotel area is safe, many cafes and a nice restaurant (Maxim) 5 minutes up the road, and the general surrounds are clean, and views from the rooftop are great!
