Liked: Good value for money with outdoor bungalows being 30EP. The food at the cafe is good and cheap. Location is fantastic.

Disliked: Only bad thing is the cleanliness of the rooms and facilities, the outdoor toilets are abysmal I dreaded having to use them. Our room wasn't cleaned at all before we checked in. We had to clean it, by sweeping the floor, removing the dirty linen and taking out the rubbish. But you pay for what you get!

Liked: The location was really good, right in the middle of the shopping strip. The rooms were also very cheap. The shower in the room was hot and strong - but its a shame it also made the whole bathroom flood.

Disliked: We were taken to a room that the previous guests had not yet checked out of. It wouldn't have been a problem except these poor people had been told they could have a late check out. This should have sent alarm bells off from the start because the staff member tried to weasel his way out of what he had offered them. Our toilet was broken - not only did it not flush, but the toilet seat didn't go either up or down; it just hung at an awkward angle. It also meant that when you took a shower the whole thing was wet. Even though we had a 'no poo in the room' rule, it still smelled really bad. We told the staff who shrugged their shoulders at us. After two days, the whole thing was grubby. The staff made us a little uncomfortable. When two of us were sitting outside (two girls), one guy came up and lingered around until we had to go inside. One of the guys was also abused because he booked his diving course with someone else. We checked out a day early. Considering the price, we weren't expecting the Ritz by any means. However, we didn't want to stay in uncomfortable filth.

Liked: Cool Place to stay, with a good atmosphere in a really good location. Basic facilities are pretty limited but if you want a really cheap place to stay it is good value.

Disliked: The staff were a little pushy, but only in keeping with standard Egyptian practice towards tourists

Liked: Very laid back atmosphere...probably reflective of the city itself. Not too clean but not back for Egypt! Great location, wonderful staff and full of lovely people to meet.

Liked: Very helpful staff and great value for money. The bedouin village is lovely and the hostel is located in the heart of it. Very good accommodation in Sinai.
