Liked: Loved the hotel!! Good atmosphere, great staff, great location and good rooms!! No worries about anything, so i could enjoy my vacation to the fullest!!! Thank you everybody at Alaska for a great stay!!!!

Liked: The staff was very accommodating and offered great advice on daytrips and services. Location was perfect, with easy access to the many activities and adventures that we experienced. Great value for the price. Room had nice hot water shower, bathroom clean, beds comfortable, and ceiling fan the best!

Liked: The location is SPOT on, in the middle of everything - just what any backpackers would look for. The staffs were very helpful and very friendly. They know what they are talking about. Trust their expertise !! Was gutted to have to leave. If I were to revisit Dahab, I'd book Hostel Alaska in no time !!

Disliked: hmmm well most places don't allow you to flush toilet paper down the loo ??! Really can't fault the place.

Liked: Good location and atmosphere of the yield.

Disliked: Few people around to know and make friends. Also the tours they organized are a bit expensive. But the facility in the room is really good and looks cleaner than the others'.

Liked: Great value for money, rooms are equal to any (Egyptian) 3-star quality (besides no tv). Clean, nice common areas and top location next to all the bars etc. Beach and pool you can use in other resorts for few bucks a day. Really nice staff, will help you with anything and give out genuinely useful info without trying to sell you things. Most recommended.

Disliked: Mosquitoes.. they are all over Egypt - it is important to take (or buy) mosquito repellent, including to the rooms.

Liked: Everything. Its a very beautiful place to stay in a very beautiful location. The rooms were clean and pretty big and we had a balcony. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful. Would definitely come back here again.

Liked: We arrived at Alaska after a very long and grueling bus/taxi ride from Jerusalem at about 2:30 am. Having never been to Dahab before and, even more, never having stayed in a hostel, we were extremely wary of what we would find. The main road of Dahab that we drove in on was fairly run down and disheartening, but immediately upon arriving at Alaska, we were pleasantly surprised.The grounds are clean and inviting, automatically instilling a feeling of security and welcome. The staff was friendly and checked us in quickly, even assiting us with our luggage. We found our room sparkling clean. Our first morning, we sat in the lounge area and were waiting for our friends when the manager came by to introduce herself. She knew exactly who we were and was well-informed. She offered great advice on where we could find the best snorkeling, and was often around with a smile and helpful attitude. The Alaska is, as it says, literally right on the beach. It is situated on the main Dahab boardwalk, in the middle of everything, but feels surprisingly tranquil. The dining is cheap and tasty, the vendors are easy to barter with and are more friendly than others we've encountered. The snorkeling is fantastic and everything is relaxed. We LOVED our stay and look forward to going back. It was easily one of the best vacations of our lives and Alaska has definitely set the bar high for other hostels (note: one of our friends stayed at Alaska and then moved to a different hostel because Alaska was full due to reservation. He said that Alaska was definitely the nicest hostel on the boardwalk.)

Liked: We really loved our experience at Alaska. We planned to stay for just a few days and ended up being there for 2 1/2 weeks! Then after traveling through the Middle East for a little while, we went back for another week. Jackie, the English lady who owns it, was super helpful and really nice as were her entire staff. We had friends who stayed at the Penguin because it was cheaper (though not by much). They only stayed for a very short time because the people there were rude and creepy to the girl and they came to Alaska and stayed for a week too. It was SUPER clean and by far the best hostel we stayed at in the last 6 months traveling through Europe and the Middle East. Free wireless, good breakfast, hot showers, snorkeling stuff and they organize reasonable tours (but don't push them at all). We can't say enough good things about this place. :)

Liked: This is a very clean and centrally located guesthouse in Dahab. The rooms are nice and spacious...the bathroom is also large and nicely tiled. The beds were great. Overall I would recommend this as a place to stay, good value for the $ and centrally located. The Alaska arranged several drivers for us and they were very reliable. Overall, highly recommended. If you're looking for sand beach, grab a taxi or simply walk to where the bigger hotels are (lagoon).
