Liked: Very friendly staff and very comfortable rooms made this stay in Cairo so memorable. Hani and his staff/family will make sure you are well looked after and have access to great tours if you would like them.I thoroughly recommend the Juliana Hotel. Its great value!!!

Liked: Hani, the owner could not have been more helpful and friendly. The location is EXTREMELY safe! British, Canadian and US embassies are literally 2 minutes away plus many large banks, so there are guards everywhere around the clock. There was no problem walking around the area at night. Hani's tour recommendations were wonderful! I would absolutely return! Thanks to Hani for a wonderful stay!!!!!

Liked: Juliana hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Take the Giza pyramid tour and the Nile Boat cruise... they were awesome!! Rooms were big and clean and the free breakfast was pretty good too. They are even driving us to the bus station tonight for free. We ended up staying a couple extra days because we liked it here so much. Would definately come back!

Liked: Hani, the owner, was exceptionally helpful. Really enjoyed our stay with the whole family. While you can never completely get away from the car-horns and muezzins in Cairo, Hotel Juliana was in a relatively quiet spot, only 10 min walk from the Egyptian museum.

Liked: Ideal location, easy & safe walking distance to downtown, shops & museum! It was a little difficult for my taxi driver to find the location as it's buried within various embassies i think the hostel/hotel needs a neon sign on the ground floor outside to point the way! The atmosphere was great, I got to meet fellow travellers and we shared our experiences and gave each other advice. The hostel could do with a communal sitting area with comfy sofas and a board with a map of tourist attractions, neighbouring roads, restaurants, shops and various amenities. Another thing that would be good to have on this board is to have pamplets so that guests have information regarding restaurants are nearby rather than wondering round to find somewhere clean & good to eat! It was a clean and tidy hostel with very helpful staff, it was nice to meet Hani (the owner)! David thank you for all your helpful advice during my stay (and of course little Karim who kept us occupied during his shift at the hostel). I would definitely recommend it to friends and will be visiting again soon! Roshni

Liked: First off I had to change my reservation from 2 nights to 1 which was easily done with one email to Hany. Then there was a double booking so Hany moved me to a nearby 2 star hotel for the same price.Hany is the man!

Liked: We are two young couples visiting Egypt from England. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much, thanks to its excellent manager and staff. The hotel owner is Hani, a very kind, friendly and helpful man who really helped us at his utmost. He arranged airport pickup for us, taxis to anywhere in the town, and also, if you are willing to, the tour throughout egypt at very good price. He even let us to use their facilities (shower, bathroom, internet, dining room) when we were not staying at the hotel like on the evening of travelling and leaving. Needless to say the staff here are excellent. Ahmed, a friendly local guy speaking good English, showed us around the hotel to know the place and took us to train station. He also gives many invaluable information of travelling in Egypt. During our stay in Cairo this small, family-style hotel really really makes us feel home in a strange country. You will meet alot of travellers all over the wolrd here, sitting together in the living room, chatting, drinking, and laughing together with the hotel staff - very casual and relaxed.About the location and hotel facility:When you first arrive and seeing the streets nearby, don't be disappointed by the dusts and mess, this is Cairo, you will see this almost everywhere in the city. In spite of this, this hotel is in great location - it is within 5 minutes walk to Canadian and US embassies, to the wellknown 5 star hotel "four season", 7 minutes walk to the river nile, 10 minutes walk to metro(tube) station. The hotel is on top of two large banks, safety is not a problem.The rooms are very clean, the best we seen in Egypt (except some 5 start top range) , even when comparing to 3 stars. There is a computer in the living room you can use for free to access internet, and a TV too. ToursHani offered good value tours to us, this include tours around Cairo, and also anywhere in Egypt. He works with good companies, the tour guide speak good English, and are very kind and friendly too. If you want to avoid hassles of booking and arranging everything by yourself, just ask him to help you. All in one word, we really think the hotel and the staff are spotless, and definitely will stay here again when we re-visit Cairo. Extremely recommended!

Liked: EVERYTHING!!!! was awesome all the atention the staff gave us, they maked our trip much more unforgetable with the exellent atention and organization for the tours...the responsability... the punctuality... everything was just perfect.... thanks to all the staff and is the place to stay if you want to find not only a bed and a breakfast but also a group of people that trat you like an old friend.... thanks for all

Liked: Hanii and Ahmed were friendly and hospitable from the first moment. very helpful and accommodating. the place is very simple, but offers you a clean, safe stay in Cairo, and that's something the city is short off, especially if you don't want to pay $300 a night. the Egyptian museum and downtown is walking distance. and the proximity to the river is nice for those who want a romantic sunset stroll. the breakfast offered is a little unimaginative, but then again, its what you pay for. you can have your laundry done for a very small fee, and the wi-fi is a little weak to use in your room, but the computer in the lobby was more than enough. overall, we had a great stay and would recommend for singles/couples who want to spend their money on the sightseeing, rather than accommodation.

Liked: staff friendly and attentive to your needs, happy to be helpful, suggest places to eat or how to get around. Rooms are nice and place is decorated nicely, is clean. The only suggestion is to provide a couch or comfy place to sit in the common area.

Liked: We had an excellent time. They were flexible and accommodating and helped us immensely in scheduling our trip. The staff was great. After all our adventures we always returned to the Juliana, and now it feels like a second home.

Liked: We have enjoyed our fairly long stay here. The location is great (despite the fact that it is hard to find at first). We would definitely recommend this hostel for those who do not want to be in "the center of it all", but only a 10 minute walk from downtown. Ayman the manager is extremely helpful, friendly, fair and good fun. The hostel is also clean and fairly quiet, the rooms are spacious. Over all it is a good deal for the money in Cairo (being roughly the same rate as hostels in downtown/in-n-around Talaat Harb).

Liked: Without doubt the best thing about this Hotel was the staff. We've been traveling for a year and Heny, amongst others, made us feel more welcome than anyone else had managed before. Nothing was too much trouble, Heny gave us lifts whenever we needed to go somewhere and he arranged very good pyramid and city tours for us too. The Hotel itself was basic but clean, the beds were very comfy and the free wifi and air-conditioning was a welcome bonus. We'd strongly suggest taking up the offer of a pick-up as the Hotel would be hard to find on your own. Don't let the lack of reviews at this stage put you off, the Hotel is new - it really is an excellent place to stay. Thoroughly recommended.
