Hotel Park View

Inaugurated in 1928 and subjected to an exhaustive restoration work required to give back its traditional image, the establishment reopened in early 2002, this is a place where old and modern Havana meet. Park View was one of the first hotels built with U.S. capital and offered the highest comfort in Havana in early 20th Century. Today, it is the perfect location for people looking for a well located hotel. Nearby you will find old buildings from the Republican period and a few blocks away you would be walking on the colonial areas, its old streets, squares and palaces. Few steps from the hotel there is the marvelous promenade Paseo del Prado, a masterpiece of famous French architect Forrestier built in 1772. Also near the Central Park, Grand Theater and Capitol building.
The environment and the location always were the first thing to exploit in the commercialization of this hotel, favorite of many personalities of the period thanks to its privacy and welcoming ambiance, specially with places like the Coctel Launge bar and the Roof Garden.

Accommodation Information

Though a bit smallish and plainly decorated, the 55 standard rooms at the Park View are comfortable and practical. No rooms lack windows, but fifteen faces a neighboring building which does not make for a picturesque view. Sixteen of the street-facing rooms (located on the 2nd and 5th floor) have balconies and couples will probably prefer one of the fifteen rooms which have matrimonial beds (the forty remaining are twin-bedded). Most rooms are fitted with showers and only twenty have bathtubs.
The rooms have phone service, satellite TV, safety deposit box, private bathroom and cold & hot water.

Location Information

Just off Prado, the Park View is around the corner from the Museum of Fine Arts and a short walk away from the seawall (which affords a magnificent view of the lighthouse and Morro fortress). The Capitol and Gran Teatro are also a brief stroll away, and nearby Obispo leads you straight to the heart of the Havana’s colonial centre.
