Liked: It is central if you like Havana vieja. Staff is helpful.

Disliked: Showers no hot water. They moved restaurant to lobby. Breakfast slow and small. Dinner variable quality

Liked: Good location and a cheap hotel, but to expensive compared to a private housing.

Disliked: No hot showers and loud airconditioners in small rooms.

Liked: Central, basic amenities. Friendly, atmospheric roof-top restaurant.

Disliked: Never, (3 rooms, 9 nights), any hot water. Bulbs missing etc. Usually a lot of jiniteras in the bar at night abetted by the security staff. Safe enough but can get a bit wearing for a bloke on his own.

Liked: The location of this property is absolutely central and you can easily walk to everywhere.

Disliked: There is a lot of noise and it is hard to sleep in the night as the locals in the area seem to be awake all night and windows are not sound proof. Other than that this hotel is not bad at ll

Liked: In a great location, just minutes walk from where the Viaazul bus drops you off from Varadero. Close to a lot of the main attractions and the Malecon. You have a private room and balcony which was secure. There was a lift and a roof area for breakfast etc Beer was cheap in the bar downstairs which was open 24 hours Room was cleaned both days Reception staff were helpful and it was possible to store luggage there.

Liked: I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Lido. Warned by other ratings (dirtyness, lack of hot water, bed bugs!!), I have asked for a clean room - and, I have got one! The room was lovely, cleaned every day + every day new towels, morning's sunhine waking me up through the red curtains, whch was an amazing experience.Take ear plugs - the city is loud (especially the roosters from about 4.30am!!) and windows lack glass plates.. :)I loved the breakfast at the rooftop terrace, with the friendly staff (I suggest everyone to learn a bit of spanish in advance to communicate better with them). The breakfast offer is quite limited (eggs in at least 5 different ways and sandwiches) but anyway adorable. (Not as outgoing is the staff at the reception though.)The immediate neighborhood is very authentic, full of local and very friendly people.I will return, and recommend to stay at this hotel to everyone who is aimed for a low-budget, authentic place (have been to more expensive hotels, but the atmosphere in this one beats them!!).
