Liked: The property was easily accessible by public transportation, which was a major plus for us.

Disliked: Background: We arrived post-Envision festival and the Hostel was fully booked. There is a possibility that customer service and accomodation are better in less busy times. However, I was extremely disappointed with the services that the hostel provided to their guests. Two things in particular: access to bathrooms and shuttle service to the beach. First- Bathrooms. This was the worst bathroom/guest ratio I have EVER seen in a hostel. There was 1 Mens bathroom and 1 Womens bathroom. A total of 2 bathrooms to service (at least) 30 guests! To make matters worse, the shower and the toilet were located together in the same room... so, when someone decided to take a 10 minute shower, everyone else was standing around with their legs crossed. I had to go to the grocery store in the morning to use the toilet. Unacceptable. Second- the 'free shuttle' to the beach. Upon arrival, we learned of a shuttle that was being organized to the beach and would be departing within 20 minutes. (This was a huge benefit for us, as the Hostel is located almost 2 miles from the beach). However, nearly an hour passed and no shuttle because the staff of Tucan could not get the vehicle. It was explained to us that it was high tide and we would be better to wait until the next day's shuttles. We ended up having to walk almost a half hour to the beach- which was gorgeous!

Liked: This was my first time to relax in 3 weeks and it was such a relaxing place for me just what i needed, also you are close to the supermarket, bank and bus stop.

Disliked: The rooms are very cramped, and you are quite some distance away from the beach.

Liked: Tucan is simply awesome. While the dorm rooms are small and stuffy, the communal space and the atmosphere easily make up for that. The rooms are arranged around a huge communal area which a restaurant, couches, hammocks, a kitchen and anything else you'll need for pura vida. Thanks to the lovely Elisabeta (no idea if your name is spelled that way) for all your help!

Disliked: Main downside: the hostel is in Uvita, not at the beach; walking there is a bit far, so if roasting yourself in the sun is the main objective of your stay, you should have a car. Other than that, highly recommended.

Liked: Nice place with very good Italian food. Unfortunately it is a quite long walk to the beach.

Disliked: Saskia left no negative feedback.
