Liked: Very friendly and helpful owners. Good breakfast. Wi-Fi.

Disliked: The 5yo kid of the owners started screaming and running around right outside our window at 6am. Also, at the time they were doing construction in the backyard, so it was noisy overall and dusty. Room was overpriced.

Liked: Really friendly staff who can help you with all kind of things. Alex speaks really good English and they make you feel welcome.

Disliked: The wifi is only available in the public area downstairs and the internet (both wifi and computers) is really slow.

Liked: Nice and clean hostel only two blocks away from the central park. The owner was very friendly and helpful (and speaking good English!). With his help we always found the right busstop (for there are a lot of busstops all over Alajuela). And we liked the breakfast very much!

Disliked: It's in a city, so it can get very noisy.

Liked: I stayed here the night before last before my flight out of Costa Rica...it was a very nice place with clean, decorative rooms. The inside of the hostel is pretty and quaint. A comfortable place to stay with good shower facilities. There is no parking, though. You have to park in a lot a few block away and pay for it, they charged us four US dollars overnight. Also, the owners were not able to give us directions to the hostel but somehow driving around Alajuela we managed to find it and keep our reservation. You could ask someone in the city once you get there for directions. Overall a good experience.

Liked: It was just a 1-night stay the night before my flight out of Costa Rica. Didn't really get a chance to see what I did and did not like. I will say they aren't as close to the airport as they advertised ---- and you have to stay 2 nights to get the free transfer to the airport. I don't recall reading that online. I didn't see the HostelBookers sign. It could have been there though. Also, the folks running the hotel were nice enough.

Liked: close to the centre, v convenient for the airport, perfect for a place to stay that is quiet but still within walking distance of the main square. taxi to airport is about $3 and the staff are happy to book it for you, at all hours.
