Liked: This is a hotel not a hostel. You pay more than you would in a hostel but you also get much more. The room was large, air conditioned with safe, tv, bathroom with hair dryer etc. The location in Bocagrande was great as you get the cool sea breezes that don't penetrate into the old city or Getsemeni. There were plenty of shops, bars & restaurants around.

Disliked: You have to take a bus or taxi to the old city but the bus only costs 1400 each.

Liked: Complimentary lemonade on arrival, they help you book tours, room size and shower is decent, air conditioning.

Disliked: The rooms have a musty smell of humidity. I'm not sure if this is common to other hotels in Cartagena, but it's pretty nasty. It didn't go away no matter how much we blasted the air con.

Liked: Staff were very welcoming on arrival, lemonade was nice touch... Some of the staff are nicer than others, but none of them speak very good english... which I appreciate is our fault for not speaking Spanish, but they work in the tourist industry. Safe in room worked well, roof terrace with 3 jacuzzis is good, but we didn´t use as went to beach just around corner in the days

Disliked: Shower didn´t have enough power, maybe coz we were on the top floor. Air con was not amazing, but left on long enough was ok. Bit stingey on the breakfast amounts, although there is a good selection on. Hotel seems to always want to make money out of you... laundry is per item which is a joke... and there was a missing flannel on our exit that they tried to charge us for and was never even put in there by the cleaner... but they accepted what we said. You have to pay if you use the slippers... that sort of thing. Just little extras that shouldn´t add on to cost

Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful, excellent location USD 2 for 15 minute taxi to old town. Maticuleously spotless rooms best we have stayed in 8 week round world holiday to date. Air conditioning modern efficewnt and quiet. Very safe to walk anytime day or night. , Close to two supermarkets 1 block away great choice of eating, Shopping main street 1 block away same with the beach less than 4 minutes walk. Highly reconmmended we will return.

Disliked: Nite picking maybe but could do with new and softer pillows . After 5 nights it was an issue but didnt detract from a wonderful stay

Liked: Free lemonade when you arrive which was very welcome in the heat, however room wasn´t ready although we arrived late. Staff were ok, but when we moved to another hostel in Getsemani which was HALF the price and a lot nicer, we realised just how friendly, yet completely unhelpful they had been. Tried to charge us the full price and had to argue to get the deposit taken off the final bill. No maps or any information on the area available.

Liked: When I first got there the manager claimed that they had not received our reservation and that the price we were given was not real. In other words they tried to hike up prices. Nonetheless since I made the reservation through HostelBookers and I had a copy of it, the manager knew that they had to keep their part of the contract. At the end we paid what we had established with HostelBookers.

Liked: The staff were helpful. We felt safe walking around at night, however we were just TOO far from the city centre. Nice to have the option to use the terrace with jacuzzi. Really close to the beach. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area. Welcome drink was really appreciated. Internet in the lobby was good, however the free wi-fi wasn't available in our room, when we were told it would be.

Liked: Excellent place in probably best location in Cartagena for evenings with loads on doorstep (easy bus ride outside costing 30p in and out of old town). Very safe area. Hotel has free internet, jaccuzis and hammoks on roof and great italian/colombian restaurant. A real gem.

Liked: This hostel was a nice clean place to stay. It served a reasonable breakfast (included in the room rate) every morning. The staff did not know a lot of English, but compared with most in Cartagena it wasn't too bad. We found the service to be good - when we arrived there was no remote control for the a/c in our room but they were very fast in finding one. They also helped us to book a couple of tours that left from the hotel. There is a supermarket and several restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel which we found to be very useful.

Liked: Traditional styte with parrots and garden for the breakfastIt is not a simply hostel, but a small nice hotel to feel safe.Internet is always available. The staffs are very friendly and helpful even they talk very little English.
