Liked: I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my mother and we both very much enjoyed our stay. The greatest thing about this hotel by far has to be its location. We arrived on an overnight train from Xian and it was only 2 stops from Shanghai Train Station and a 2 minute walk from the metro to the hotel and it was also a 10 minute walk to People's Square. The room was large and very modern, the bathroom was good size and the shower was massive. We didn't really use any of the other hotel services but the room and its location made our stay in Shanghai. We arrived really early due to being on an overnight train and the reception coudn't check us in right away but by 10:15am we were in our room, which we really appreciated. We also had a bonus view we weren't expecting, nothing too grand but we could see the river from our room. If you are looking for something a bit nicer than a hostel but don't want to spend this too much then I highly reccomend this hotel

Disliked: The hotel advertises itself as a four star hotel and it may have that potential but needs a few updates. The rooms were nice and big but were not exactly perfectly clean. The carpet had stains and didn't look vacuumed and the bathroom cracks and crevices needed a good scruubbing. The walls were paper thin and so I could hear my neighbors TV when it was on but that seems to be typical of all Chinese hotels and hostels. I noticed other people had commented on the prostitute cards being placed under the room door and we received these on two of the nights as well, I just found it funny. The beds were a bit hard but we have also become accustomed to this in China but fluffy pillows were a plus.
