Liked: It's the perfect place if you want to experience life in a hutong. It is in the perfect location to all the sights and if need be close to two subway lines to get you to you destination even quicker. Definelately would recommend this place!

Liked: I like the location of the TempleSide, its inside is look very confortable, even in the cold winter they have AC ready to stay warm. It´s the kind of place where you can spend the whole day inside with no need to see Beijing, the people is very gently and open to talk, If I get back to Beijing for sure I will repeat.

Liked: We felt like we had an authentic Chinese experience. The hutong location made it interesting, the house itself was charming. It was a small and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a family or couple. After a few days we felt like "family". Memorable experience for China-ties.

Liked: I like that it is in a small Hutong where normal chinese people live and the style of the house is beautiful. The bathroom is very nice. The staff was kind and helpful. They have stuffed animals and buggies for families with small children.

Disliked: Not really dislike, but if you want to meet people this is not the place. Since i was travelling with my parents we liked the quiet atmosphere. Maybe if there is a few more families it is more lively.

Liked: The ambience was good, quiet place, near convenience store easy to buy foods. We had lunch and dinner at the open garden.. cool place. The rooms was big enough for all of us we are 10 in a group, thanks for Bobby"s recommendation to choose 8beds & 1 private room for us. The staff was very friendly esp. the girl name "LIU" ( if i'm not mistaken) she's very kind.. :) Thank you!

Liked: The place was beautiful and very authentic Chinese while still being very catering to Westerners. The hostel had a welcome booklet which let you know all about the various packages they sell for tours and tickets to different events. Because the hostel recommends them, you know they are trust worthy and very safe. I cannot recommend this place more strongly. It was perfect and the only place I will stay in Beijing.

Disliked: I didn't dislike it, but I could see how others would. The hostel is located in the alley section of Beijing so it is older and tucked away in an alleyway. This gives the impression from the outside that the place might be creepy and dirty but you are pleasantly surprised when you enter. There is no question concerning safety and this allows for a more authentic Beijing experience.

Liked: Awesome little hostel. Friendly staff, great place. I was attending a conference in Beijing and could not afford the conference hotel, so decided to stay here in a dorm bed. I was worried about it slightly, but when I arrived here I felt like coming home. I was able to check in already at 8 am (not possible at hotels) and it was all easy and comfortable. The dorm has good beds and air-conditioning.

Liked: Enjoyed our stay, templeside has lots of character and it was great being in a hutong neighborhood. I wish the staff offered more food services, like a light breakfast, and coffee and tea was easily accessible. This would make their place top notch.

Liked: Very friendly, dumpling making and majhong lots of fun. Always keeping the place clean. Upstairs common area cold in winter but downstairs is warm enough.

Liked: The traditional design was enchanting. Bobby and his wife were informative spoke great English and helped with tours. The staff were friendly and offered dumpling-making demonstrations free of charge.

Liked: The hostel was beautiful and clean. I felt more like I stayed in a cute, small hotel than a hostel because of the great service, fresh towels, and fun decor. Great value for the money! The only thing I didn't like were the walks to the subway (15 minutes) and the confusion of Chinese cab drivers late at night when they couldn't navigate the difficult alleyway system and didn't understand where to drop us off. Even with these pretty minor issues of location, this was the best (of 6) hostels I've ever stayed in.

Liked: Lovely lovely hostel! Bobby and his staff make you feel home right away. The staff is incredibly helpful (in a city like Beijing, where people generally don't understand english, helpful stuff is pretty much all you need!). The location is perfect, and it couldn't be any cleaner. Just perfect.

Liked: Templeside Deluxe met or exceeded every one of my expectations. The decor was beautiful, the hostel was clean and comfortable, and the service was great. The price was also very good. The only downside was that we booked a tour to the Great Wall through the hostel and our guide at the Great Wall disappeared - we never saw her from the beginning, to the end of the hike. So if booking a Great Wall hike through this hostel I'd recommend confirming with Bobby, the hostel owner, that he gets a reliable guide. Everything else was excellent.
