Liked: The courtyard setting is perfect and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Staff were really helpful and had lots of guidebooks for us to read.

Disliked: We were moved to the Courtyard View hotel for a few days as there was no room at the Emperor's Guard, but this was just as nice, and in a great area in an old hutong. Sometimes it was noisy in the evenings if others were awake and sat outside.

Liked: This is a very small hotel with probably less than 5 rooms offering a very authentic and cozy atmosphere. Rooms are very nice and clean, there is wi-fi everywhere. Location is awesome. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the subway, but hidden in a quiet and peaceful hutong. The staff is outlandishly friendly and helpful. They even bought us the train tickets to Shanghai without advance payment. Where else will you find that kind of service? There are various tours/show tickets available to purchase on-site, which is convenient.

Disliked: Beware, it might be not that easy to find this hotel by yourself when you are the first time in Beijing! Be sure to have the hotel's phone number handy in case you are lost. Be careful, they seem to have a couple of rooms without bathroom, so you have to go outside when you want to take the shower. If you don't want that kind of surprise, please double check what room you are booking. We were lucky, though, and our room was just beautiful.

Liked: Its the best service we have recieved out of all the accomodtion in Asia. The location was perfect, its right in the centre but tucked away in the Hutong area so nice and quite.

Disliked: SAMANTHA left no negative feedback.
