Liked: My negative experience with the hotel far outweighs any of the positives unfortunately but I guess location was decent enough. Had free wifi, though only really worked in lobby area as was coming from coffee shop down the road.

Disliked: Hotel staff let themselves into a locked bathroom while I was showering and found it highly entertaining. Even after they realised I was in there they continued to call out asking me to hurry up even though I'd only been in the shower for a few minutes. When I mentioned to the staff about it they just implied that I forgot to lock it (which I didn't) and I highly doubt that they spoke to the maintenance people about it.

Liked: location, own sink, TV, safe, fridge, comfortable bed, friendly staff, free wireless, kitchen & laundry facilities great value for money!

Disliked: shared bathroom right down the hall, rooms a little cold and stuffy, corridor carpet pretty grubby

Liked: Excellent location, no need to take a bus in downtown. Very clean and have a lots of good facilities, specially the nice kitchen.

Disliked: No breakfast. The internet didn't works well, you have to be close to the check in desk to connect the internet.

Liked: The location and price were excellent. Staff were helpful. There was secure, paid parking but in a grimy back alley. Washroom was down the hall but very clean with a new shower. Kitchen was down the hall, but again it was very clean and fuctional. Bed was comfortable

Disliked: No elevator. Room was small and looked out over a very dirty roof. TV was small and rather old.Carpet was torn. My room was very cold and took awhile to heat up with a hot water system.

Liked: Location is good. You can walk nearly everywhere.

Disliked: It is very noisy. Rooms are small but ok.

Disliked: The washrooms are in a poor condition and aren't clean. Not a place for people how mind wearing flip flops while taking a shower.

Liked: Good location, comfy beds, helpful staff on the front desk, didn't have to queue to use shared bathrooms. NB, recently renamed as The Ambassador.

Disliked: The corridors need a good hoover. The shared bathrooms were typical shared bathrooms, i.e. ok if you catch them soon after they've been cleaned. The rooms don't have air conditioning and were really hot at night (the weather was really hot at the time).

Liked: The building itself has lots of character. Good price for what is offered. Friendly staff. Clean. More of a cheap hotel than a hostel.

Disliked: The door to the room did not close fully (gap between top of door and door frame); people passing by might be able to hear you.

Liked: The staff here rocked. they were very friendly and helpful. this place has a lot of character and I would stay here again in an instant.

Disliked: It says there is parking at this hotel, there is, but you have to pay for it. So it is not at all different from any other hotel/ hostel in vancouver.

Liked: Great location, close to many restaurants, bars and coffee shops and transportation. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: No free breakfast (which was advertised in their web page), though they give discount for a good little cafe near by. Room service was performed only 2 nights out of 5, probably due to under-staffing. This place could use a facelift.

Liked: Price and central location. Staff very friendly and helpful, full of good tips.

Disliked: Located over a night-club so very noisy, looks very run down from outside, inside not so bad, but at the price they charge, cannot really expect anything else.

Liked: Fantastic tidy, warm and friendly place to stay. Room has all amenities, shared bathroom, but there are plenty and the water is always piping hot, great pressure in the showers and the reception are awesome! We got offered a long term stay deal for cheap just because we had spent alot of nights here. We also got upgraded upon arrival! highly recommend staying here upon your arrival to Vancouver! Fantastic location too.

Disliked: The ONLY thing is that there are no bowls, forks or can-opener in the communal kitchen... This created a few problems when cooking on our own.

Liked: The staff were over-whelmingly obliging and friendly. Jean is tops! It was handy to all the main attractions.

Disliked: There wasn't a lot to dislike at all.

Disliked: my reservaion was cancelled due to the fact that they closed apparently for good over one of the biggest weekends in vancouver (BC day) and I was left without a room scrambling to find anywhere to stay. And hostelbookers.com has yet to compensate me for the booking fee.
