Disliked: Dirty shower, dirty floor, frankly dirt everywhere .... But if you are backpaker, it is quite comon ....

Liked: its like a haunted hotel out of scooby-doo!! brilliant! and the staff arethe most helpful and polite and pleasant i have come across in toronto hostels.. and i have stayed in a few.

Disliked: The kitchen is a bit grubby.

Liked: One of the staff was super helpful and let me use their PC to access the internet when, for some reason, i couldn't access it through my laptop...

Disliked: Internet would be accessible just some times and just for some computers... :s

Liked: the location is great! its really close to down town, you can reach all the things by walking, and you dont need a nightbus after partying.

Disliked: they gave me a room without lockers, because everything else was occupied. they had no extra lockers! so i had to take my pc all the day with me! they also had just 2 keys for the room, and we were three guys in there...

Liked: Staff were helpful and friendly

Disliked: Not very clean, hair and dirt on the floor in the bathroom. Also they only had two keys for our room, but there was 4 of us satying in the room so two of us didn't get keys and had to reley on someone else being in the room to let us in.

Liked: not much, the staff overall were pretty helpful. Although, when we arrived they wanted to charge us extra for taxes... (I though all the charges, including taxes were quoted on Hostel Bookers - which makes it easier when budgeting for your travels)

Disliked: Looks like it needs some serious maintenence work, it had a very tired and worn appearance (crumbly walls). The breakfast was disorgansied to the point that one of our party left & got breakfast elsewhere.

Liked: The only thing I could say that I like is the location.

Disliked: I'm not one that likes to complain, but.... The place looks like it hasn't been maintained for at least a good 20 years. Everywhere you look things are broken and falling apart. My key to the room was so worn I had to jiggle and hold my tongue right to unlock it. The dorm room was an absolute hovel. The beds are terrible and the linen doesn't fit it. Got eaten alive by bedbugs and there was no mention of a refund (do I really have to ask?). Had I known how bad the place was, I wouldn't have stayed here if they paid me. Avoid at all costs!

Liked: Good locale. Close to downtown. Fridge and microwave in the room.

Disliked: TV didn't work.

Liked: big common area, free local calls, big lockers, ensuite bathrooms, staff was helpful

Disliked: no hand towels, soaps or bath mats in the bathroom, no tea towels in the kitchen, unusable fridge in the kitchen ("people steal your food here"), plastic matresses, no toilets in common area, slow internet, only pancakes with a lot of waiting time for breakfast (and ugly orange juice, tea and coffee), no appropriate reaction to bed bugs (I just got another room)

Liked: Location, price, friendly staff.

Disliked: The location is good. It's not very clean, the carpeting is very dirty, but in general is good enough for the price. I drove but I forgot to tell them that I needed a parking permit so I had to park down the street and paid 14 bucks per night.
