Pousada da Cachoeira

Pousada da Cachoeira was imagined and built eleven years ago and is twelve minutes walk from the Abraão's Village center and seven minutes from the beautiful beach with the same name.

In the backyard of the "Pousada" lies a forest where 15 specimen of orchids and different examples of birds can be found. One of these called "Tiê Sangue" (Ramphocelus brasilis) which, according to experts, is one of the most beautiful bird in the world (with its red and black feathers). Other typical animals from the Atlantic Forest can also be found such as sagui monkeys, squirrels (caxinguelê or palm tree rats).

"Pousada da Cachoeira" holds traditional straw huts (quiosque), where a complete breakfast (coffee, milk, juices, fruits, eggs, bread, butter, cheese, jelly, ham, cake, etc.) is served, is integrated in a tropical scenery of the Atlantic Forest. Again the small river, which crosses the garden, can be seen and watched while you are having your meal.

"Pousada da Cachoeira" can receive comfortably 22 people accommodated in 9 apartments: 4 person room (1 double bed and 2 single beds); 6 apartments with double beds (3 of them in front of a tropical garden with exuberant vegetation) and 1 chalet which is also surrounded by green (double bed).

From Rio de Janeiro :
Go to the RODOVIARA Novo Rio station (bus station in rio de janeiro ), you will find an office where you can buy tickets of the company COSTA VERDE to go to ANGRA DO REIS city or MANGARATIBA, this cities have pier for take a ferry and go to the island.

The bus trip to Angra costs about R$ 35 and takes 2 and half hours until 3 hs, and the one to Mangaratiba takes 2 hours.
