Liked: Good sized room with lots of space.

Disliked: The room was good, good sized living space, 2 double beds, ok bathroom, microwave/fridge but no telephone. The locks on the doors were all broken so it was a padlock on the front door, 2 bolts on the back of the front door and one on the bedroom. There was lots of work going on on the lower floor and the owner wasn't the most forthcmoing and seemed really put out that at checkout i asked her to call a taxi when there is no passing traffic. I have travelled a lot and stayed in some less than desirable areas before, but have never felt so unsafe.

Liked: Leaving

Disliked: The neighborhood teenagers used the rooftop patio as their evening hangout. To lock the door when I left the room, I would have to use a padlock on the outside of the door. As I stated earlier the room could be broken into very easily. It was hard to tell if the place was under renovation or just generally worn down. Finally the spray painted room numbers above the door were a nice touch.

Liked: A pleasant and secure place to stay, and from what I have heard from other people staying in Belize city, a good price too. I arrived late at night and jumped straight in a taxi and left early the next morning but it is pretty convenient to the bus station and downtown. Good cheap takeaways just down the road.

Liked: Price was great! Owner was very accomodating and friendly. Public bus stop a 1 minute walk from hotel. Location in a nice neighborhood with food shops within walking distance. Private rooms were very nice with cable television, air conditioning, and fans.

Disliked: No dislikes.

Liked: It was located in a quiet residential area -- which is a plus for me. So I rated that high. But if you were looking for something close to night-life etc, the location would not be good. It was quite roomy -- two rooms and a bath.

Disliked: Not everything worked. There was not microwave or any way of heating water that worked. No coffee maker. There was a carry out place for Chinese meals and a grocery store near by but neither opened early.

Liked: Really nice ensuite room with double beds, ac, tv. Poor internet access. Location not great for anything but then again there's not a whole lot in Belize city to see!

Liked: I booked a four bedded dorm and was given a four bedded dorm to myself and my son and his girlfriend also had a four bedded dorm for their use, which was great. We also stayed there on the way back. It took us about half an hour walk to reach Belize city, but this was not a problem as we were able to walk for most of the way by the sea. The owner was friendly and very helpful. The hotel was clean and ther were two shops near by one of them did take away which was handy if you did not want to go into Belize city at night. Some on the roomshad cooking facilitys which was also handy. I would certainly stay there again if I went back to Belize.

Liked: This is a perfectly functional place to stay if your standards aren't very high. The owner is pretty much always there, and she is attentive, if distracted. I stayed in several places around Belize in the same price range and this is the only one that had actual hot water, which was nice. But it's far from everything and far from charming.

Liked: The manager, Nancy, is very personable, friendly and competent. She has created a white pebble roof garden bordered with blooming plants, with a palm thatched shaded table and wooden chaiselounges. Views of the bay, residential areas and University are great in the breezy twilight.

Liked: The manager, Nancy, is very personable, competent, friendly and knowledgeable about where to go and what to do. Her roof garden has a view of the carribean on 3 sides, thatched shade, recliners, view of neighborhoods and university 4 floors below. Great cool breezes and they would blow away the mosquitoes if they were out yet. 4/15-16

Liked: This place is an inexpensive hotel rather than a hostel. I enjoyed its tranquility even in the midst of extensive renovations that were going on at the time. I had a large suite all to myself for the price of room for one. There were hardly any other guests at the time of my visit.
