Liked: The staff was very helpful and friendly. It is located just down the street from a bus stop with bus lines that take you to the center and the train station.

Liked: One of the best places to stay, beautiful rooms, surroundings, very much approachable from any part of Salzburg. The owner was so helpful and informative that we dint need any travel guide. Fully equipped kitchens, clean rooms and bathrooms. Everything more than good. I would definelty visit Ante Portas once again.

Liked: It was very clean and the rooms were just great.

Liked: We loved everything, especially the room, the bed and the shower. Very friendly and helpful staff, a lovely break from the noisy and busy hostels we have been staying in.

Disliked: The little kitchen didn't have a kettle or a toaster but we managed with a saucepan and a fry pan!! It's a little far from the center of Salzburg but a very easy bus ride or a 20min stroll.

Liked: It was extremely clean and the kitchen well stocked! The man on the front desk was very nice and explained Salzburg to us and what we should see. Everything was new and fresh from IKEA. I'm an Eco activist so normally new isn't always great but you could tell it was because it was just a newly renovated place.

Disliked: The only down side was that we had a top floor room and we had Venilux automatic windows, which decided to close when it was raining, and took ages after it stopped raining to open again. It was very hot! But there is not a lot the owner could do about it. . . :/ I'm not one to spend loads of time socializing but I know how some people are looking for that in a hostel. This very nice place is like little apartments and does not have any communal areas. :)

Liked: Very clean place, quite a big room for a decent price. The owner was very friendly and helpful. You can check in whenever you want, since they have a code system and leave the key at the door for you to pick up. The free parking is also a plus, since it only takes about 10-15 mins by bus to get to the city center.

Disliked: Nothing. EVerything was as advertised.

Liked: It was the greatest apartment ever. For almost 50 euro(~25euro/person), it was a great place to stay.

Liked: Great place to stay if you are looking for a little privacy or down-time (not a place to stay if you are interested in meeting others). Very clean and comfortable. Staff was extremely helpful recommending sights to see around Salzburg. Grocery and bakery are near by. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!!!

Disliked: It is a little far away from main sights (about 10 min by bus), but easy to get around. About 20 min. away from the main train station by bus and 20 min. away from laundry.

Liked: Every facilities was good enough. A bit far from the center, 20 minutes by bus line4. Also a bit far from coin laundry, 20 minutes by bus line23.

Liked: It was very clean and recently renovated so everything was nice and new! We arrived outside of check-in time but the information provided on how to get into our room was very easy to understand. Information on Salzburg, buses into the town centre etc was also provided which was very helpful.

Disliked: The room was identified as a 3 bed private room however it was a queen and a single bed rather than 3 separate beds. Everything else was great though!

Liked: Very beautiful, modern and clean apartment. Helpful staff who are cheerful and provided good advice for my trip in Salzburg. Excellent bathroom. Good Wifi. Needs to take a bus ride from the train station, but easily reachable.

Liked: I wish there was 'excellent' in the grading chart; it's that what it deserves. My wife and I, both in their mid-fifties, were at Ante Portas for six days. It was perfect in all ways. Sabine and her staff were very helpful and we admired their meticulous planning ! It may not be in central Salzburg but the No 4 bus is conveniently located, which brings you to the city centre in 10 minutes. It's not a place for youngsters, but if you need to cook your food, then Ante Portas is your answer. No extra charges, or hidden charges. Maybe Sabine forgot to provide soap in the bathroom, but we give a triple AAA ! Dr K Ahmed and Dr Shabina Ahmed, India
