Liked: Staff was very very helpful. took time out to draw up a bar crawl for us which we enjoyed and were always helpful no matter how many people they had to attend. Location is good, walking distance from most things and with a few cheap restaurants close by.

Disliked: too big for my liking... doesnt really allow for that cosy hostel feel. No parking, which is a bit of a bummer as parking on the street can be expensive if your renting a car.

Liked: The location

Disliked: The private rooms are extremely small, beds are shorter than the standard measures. Elevator didn't work for at least 2 days, and usually only 1 of the 4 washing machines was functional at a given time (and one particular day all of them were out of order)

Liked: Value for money, staff very friendly, rooms very nice, showers nice, kitchen big - i stayed here for 8 nights over xmas and had a great time. Rooms were cheap, close to tram to go to St Kilda beach, in the centre of town so easy reach to all shops and bars and food shops. If i return i will definately be staying here again.

Disliked: Cherise left no negative feedback.

Liked: Value for money, staff very friendly, rooms very nice, showers nice, kitchen big - i stayed here for 8 nights over xmas and had a great time. Rooms were cheap, close to tram to go to St Kilda beach, in the centre of town so easy reach to all shops and bars and food shops. If i return i will definately be staying here again.

Disliked: The only annoying thing was that if you wanted to stay another night and couldn´t stay in the same room you had to check out at 10am leave your bags downstairs and then couldn´t check in again until 2pm! It wasn´t a major thing, so a tip make sure you book enough night or book extra night well in advance so you can stay in your same room.

Liked: Helpful staff, nice atmosphere, good location, lots of people to meet, free internet

Disliked: Too many people on too little space, no place to sit for breakfast, lifts not working, stinking kitchen, it was too hot at the rooms and no good circulation or aircondition, which made it hard to sleep. Internet not always working.

Liked: I liked the fact that it is everything it says it is. I was very pleasantly surprised, being a hardened travel cynic, but great staff, great deals and a great location make this well worth a visit.

Liked: the location was good!

Disliked: Everything is prohibited, like food in the room, alcohol everywhere on the property (only in their bar where they can sell it!)! Free wifi is really slow because 50 people are using it every time in the lobby or you go there at 3 am! the kitchen is too small, not much space in the fridge and the rooms are not lovely furnished, I didn't liked it!

Liked: only the location, cause it was very close to the center of town

Disliked: the staff had been rude and rough. besides, the hostel, especially the pillows are really very dirty and disgusting. i almost puked when i saw the pillos, because they had been yellow instead of white covered with dirt and hairs, which didn´t belong to me... disgusting!!!!!!

Liked: The location is great. Rooms are decent. Facilities are ok. Breakfast is nice. The free “pick-up” from the airport is convenient.

Disliked: This place is huge, so expect some serious crowds. It’s a bit old and worn down. Definitely not the most cozy place you are gonna stay, but perfectly adequate.

Liked: Not a lot to be honest. The location is good but I'm afraid that's about all.

Disliked: The free wifi was a joke, advertised as having it and it was just finishing getting installed when we arrived. It's ok now on the last day but all other days it's been intermittent and you lose connection for 1/2 hour at a time. Plus you can't actually get it in your room either, only on the ground floor where the cafe and lounge area is and it's always really busy there so you have to fight to get a place, and there's not enough power points for everyone. The kitchen is a joke. Many others have criticised it in the review and I thought they might be over reacting but they really weren't. There's no actual ovens, only hobs, some of which don't work. The toasters take 10mins to toast. The place is dirty as people don't clean up after themselves and it's always really busy, not just at peak times. There's not enough storage space for chilled or dried food, the fridges stink and don't work half the time anyway. The cinema is really just an LCD TV mounted on the wall with some sofas in front, most of which are taken up by people just on their computers not even watching. I suppose for younger people who don't really care about these things it would be ok, maybe I'm just getting old (30) and grumpy! On the plus side it's really close to the CBD and I'm guessing if you're so inclined to go out drinking and stuff it's in a great location, but I'm not really into that sort of stuff anymore. The staff were generally ok and tried to help where they could, apologizing for the long queue times in reception.

Liked: the free brakefast was a grate idea the food on sale in cafe was good value and nice

Disliked: they had two lifts but one was broken and it got lots of people angry and there seemed no rush to get it fixed to many guist's for one lift

Liked: It had a really good communal area for watching TV and movies. The kitchen was big and regularly cleaned. The showers were spotless.

Disliked: They offer money back from the airport shuttle if you stay 3 nights or more, however because we originally booked 2 and then extended our stay by an extra day we were not given this money back (you have to book this all in one go).

Liked: good price (big dorm) for good value, really good breakfast with muesli, cornflakes, weet-bix and toast with jam

Disliked: only negative point is the kitchen: it is good equipt, but to small for the size of the hostel, at peak-hours it's not enough space to prepare your food

Disliked: It's crowded and very commercial (paying with credit card costs extra). If you are one of the party people around 18 yrs old, you will love it!
