Irupe Lodge

A cosy and unique lodge at the shore of Ibera Lake, in the middle of the nature reserve Esteros del Ibera, Corrientes, perfect to start your adventures into the wetlands and also to enjoy some relaxing moments in close contact to untouched nature and wildlife.

‘Irupé Lodge’ was constructed in 2004 and is run by its owners Regula and Mauricio Lacona, a Swiss -Argentinean couple. Its appearance is a demonstration of how local materials can be fitted into the environment harmonically. The Lodge is located directly on the shore of Lake Iberá.

We offer ten large rooms en suite combining the luxury of the rustic construction with the luxury of wide spaces, private balconies and windows with views to the lake. Open air veranda and panoramic windows of the lodge’s restaurant enable our guests to enjoy nature at any time of their stay. On cool winter days, our wine corner and chimney make them feel even more at home. Our fully qualified chef surprises with delicious combinations of local cuisine with an international touch. Offering room for at most 24 guests, we ensure exclusive and personally attended sojourns.

At ‘Irupé Lodge’, ecology and environment are the everyday guidelines and the owner’s personal challenges. Our specialized guides bring you face to face with wild animals without disturbing them, moving the boats with long bamboo sticks and only using silent and non polluting motors to cross the lake.

At the lodge we provide biodegradable amenities and practice rubbish separation. Half of our park along the lake shore is a natural wetland fed by rain water. It offers a paradise to birds and small animals that can be observed while enjoying the pool, hammocks, benches or simply an open air breakfast.

Our little paradise grant for an unforgettable experience for all the guest’s senses. In 2005, ‘Irupé Lodge’ also started a socio-cultural project of integration of the farmer families into tourism which in the meantime has become one of our most popular excursions (consult with us -days with gauchos-). We also support the local school and craftsmen cooperative as they are an important social act in this remote area of Argentina.
