By Car…
From the M4 take the A48 dual carriageway to Carmarthen, then the A40 bypassing Haverfordwest. Continue to Letterston, (great sit down fish and chip restaurant called 'Something's Cooking on the right) and in the centre of the village turn left onto the B4331. After about 5 miles turn left again onto the A487. After about 2 1/2 miles, just after the petrol station on your left and the yellow painted Square and Compass pub on your right, turn right signposted Trefin. It's about 1 mile to the village. Immediately after the pink house on the right turn right into our car-park.
By Cycle…
Sustrans Route 4, The Celtic Trail, passes through Trefin. Secure cycle storage is available at The Old School Hostel.
By Coach…
There are daily long distance National Express coaches from various towns and cities direct to Haverfordwest.
The No.528 coach at 10am from Blackpool (another popular holiday spot that, like Trefin has unfortunately lost out on its bid to become the super casino capital of the UK) calls at Preston, Manchester, Birmingham and stops at various towns in South Wales including Carmarthen. Unfortunately it doesn't arrive at Haverfordwest until 9pm and there are no forward bus connections. See the links page for local taxi numbers.
The No. 528 direct service from London Victoria coach station departs at 12 noon, calls at Reading then is non stop to Chepstow. It then calls at various towns in South Wales including Carmarthen and arrives Haverfordwest at 19.05.
The No. 411 bus departs Haverfordwest bus station at 19.55 due St. David's 20.34. We're about 7 miles from St. David's. See the links page for local taxi numbers.
By Train…
There is now an excellent direct service every 2 hours from MANCHESTER Piccadilly, Crewe, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Newport, Cardiff and Swansea to Haverfordwest. £30 return from Manchester if booked in advance with good availability. The connections by bus on to us aren't brilliant but do offer the opportunity of a visit to a nice riverside pub in Haverfordwest. We would suggest the 08.28 from Manchester due 14.28. Have a drink at the Bristol Trader or pick up supplies in the shops (unfortunately Trefin hasn't got an own shop any more) and catch the 16.00 bus (No.411) from the bus station in the centre of town direct to Trefin. It arrives at 17.20.
From LONDON Paddington you will need to change at Cardiff or Swansea. The 09.45, changing at Cardiff connects into the above mentioned train and pub and bus. The 07.45 from London Paddington changing at Cardiff for Fishguard Harbour connects for a bus to our village. See below.
From CARDIFF the 10.55 (07.45 connecting service from London Paddington) arrives Fishguard Harbour 13.11. Walk out of the port area about 1km and stand outside Tescos ( there is no bus stop ) and catch the 14.02 bus (No. 411 destination St. Davids) direct to our village, Trefin. It's due here at 14.28.
PS: There's a cafe next to Tescos if you need a bite to eat.
By Bus from the mid Wales Coast…
From Aberystwyth change at Cardigan and Fishguard for Trefin. We suggest the 13.35 departure (No. 550) which will get you to Trefin at 18.20.
All times are Monday to Friday and most apply on Saturday too. We've done our best to check that they are correct but please don't sue us if they're not. Give us a call if you need further help - we've got various timetables to hand, and see our links page for train, coach, bus and taxi companies contact details.
