Liked: The Hostel is very well laid out with spacious bathrooms and very colourful, inviting colours. Very funky!

Disliked: The springs on my mattress poked into my chest and the bunk beds squeaked a lot!

Liked: Very easy to get along with the staff there, the booking was straightforward, for a simple nights stay, it was perfect, and excellent value for money. Plenty of facilities, a great place to meet people. It's a stones throw away from the town, with a nearby Wetherspoons as well should you miss the 7-9 breakfast at the hostel. On your departure, keys need to be returned by 10am, which is a generous time considering.

Disliked: Other guests do tend to use their rooms as a gathering place quite a bit, and with thin walls it can get a bit noisy at all hours, however The staff to make an active effort to prevent this. I also recommend utilizing your own pillow if you can, as theirs are a bit thin! Fortunatley we had cash, but there is a £1 charge for using a Card as payment.

Liked: The location of the hostel is ideal and within a 10 minute walk of Cardiff centre and the Millennium Stadium. At £20 per person per night we couldn't grumble as we only slept there - we were out of the hostel very early each day and returned very early the next day!!!! The 24 hour reception is good too. I couldn't really rate the hostel on its friendliness; fun place to meet people etc as like I've already said, we were hardly there ourselves. But if you want cheap and cheerful accommodation then you can't get much more than the Nomad.

Disliked: The most disappointing part about our stay was the fact that if you didn't get in the shower at daft o'clock (between 6 and 7am) you would have to endure a freezing cold shower.....which is good for curing hangovers but not ideal for getting a wash!!!! To be honest, the bathroom and toilet we shared was a little grubby, with mould on the sealant. The shower was run off the taps and wasn't very powerful either.

Liked: Very friendly and helpfull people.

Disliked: Beds and it's duvays a tiny bit too small and also not the easiest place to locate.

Liked: The toilets n bathrooms were surprisingly very clean ! Staff was helpful. Heating in my room (12 bed dorm) was very good.

Disliked: The walls in my room had patches of fungi on them, that was a major put off. It was just about okay; I mean for 12 pounds dont think U will get anything better.

Liked: I like that it is safe and secure, and with-in walking distance of everywhere. I like the friendly staff. I like the well heated rooms.

Disliked: Dorms are rather cramped. No hangers for clothes.

Liked: The staff was really friendly and seemed to want to do their best to help the guests.

Disliked: My two biggest complaints are lack of space and that it was freezing cold. We stayed in a 12 bed room, which would have been fine except there was barely space for people to stand between the beds and no room to spread out suitcases if the room was actually full. My other complaint was that it was always very cold in the rooms. Yes, it's November and it was snowing outside the one day, but I should not be able to see my breath in the bedroom (the heaters didn't turn on at all the last two nights). My only other issues were with the noisiness of certain guests in our room, which the hostel staff did talk to and is not something I consider the hostel's fault.

Liked: Very good value for money: clean, free wi-fi, modest breakfast (but hey what can you ask for at this price, I've been to more expensive hostels that gave you nothing, not even tea), rooms are not overcrowded even thought they're quite small (I stayed in a 6-bed dorm) and the atmosphere is generally nice... was pleasantly surprised by this stay.

Disliked: umm...this is not the fault of the hostel, just one messy girl is living together at that time...so the room become really messy : )

Liked: The staff are awesome! Anything you need they sort out for you, they are friendly, loads of fun and Dougie who runs the bar facilities is an absolute champion! Great weekend!

Liked: The location in relation to town was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable enough considering! Breakfast being included was very nice, as was having a full working kitchen as well as internet access, television etc and communal areas to meet other guests

Disliked: The first night we stayed in a 3 person room which was spacious enough tio be able to move around in, but on the second and third nights we were in a 6 bed room and there wasn't much space to move around in. I have given a low score for location and safety as, although very close to town and feeling secure enough inside, it is not in a nice area in terms of crime. On the last morning, our car was broken into where it was parked just outside the hostel and all our shopping and half our suticases taken. This was in broad daylight, and apparently about one car a week is broken into around there. My strong suggestion would be to look at staying somewhere with a secure carpark if driving, but if you are coming by public transport (which will be what I do if returning in the future so my car is not left out for thieves to break into) then I would be happy to recommend this hostel as a good place to stay

Liked: Cheapest option in Cardiff and great value for money considering the excellent setup of the hostel. Perfect hostel! The only thing to improve upon is the noisy beds.

Disliked: The beds were very noisy. I couldn't roll over without making excessive noise that annoyed other sleepers.

Liked: It had a really good kitchen and bathroom facilities. Also had lockers in the room. Beds were a bit squeaky but comfortable enough. Laundry is a little expensive but is all done for you. Close walk to big supermarket and main shops. Bit of a trek from the airport but made easy by bus transfer. Not much of a "party" atmosphere but a good comfortable place to stay.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: A basic hostel, but at a good value price: ideal for visiting Cardiff and South Wales on a budget.

Disliked: Corridors and stairs only had vinyl covering, rather than carpet, which tended to make to make them noisy when walked on.
