Liked: Nice airy rooms, liked the breakfast arangements, Excellent location, nice service.

Disliked: Wish the bolt on the toilet door shut propperly. Also would have been nice if the shower cubicals had boltable doors instead of curtains, I was getting worried about walking in on someone.

Liked: I can't rate it highly enough. The lady who dealt with us was so incredibly accommodating and friendly. I heard her dealing with other travelers too in the same way. She made it feel very homely. The hostel was incredibly clean and the beds, pillows and mattresses were comfortable and luxurious for a hostel. The lounge, kitchen and dining room were very unhostel-like. They were more like the kinds of rooms you'd find in large homes; comfortable, inviting, cozy, clean.

Disliked: They have power showers there and in the one I was in the water would not regulate. It went from freeeeeezing cold to boiling hot. But once my friend was out of his shower, I moved and that one was fine. It was the one on the first floor. Hardly much to complain about.

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay at Totters. We recieved a friendly and helpful greeting. The location is ideal for exploring the Snowdonia area. The house and surrounding area is rich with character. There is plenty of room in the kitchen, dining areas even when busy. The facilities provided are very good. In summary I felt that the atmosphere, location, facilities, cleanliness, staff were all very good to excellent and I would recommend Totters highly.

Disliked: My only observation would be that there is a strong damp smell in the cupboard where the crockery is kept. I just washed items before using, it wasn't a problem to me. The kitchen/dining is in the basement where a small patch of mould was present on the wall. I would imagine that as the building is very old it is very difficult to keep on top of this problem.

Liked: Room is spacious and clean.

Disliked: Hard to find the hostel. Mixed common toilet and shower area with only shower curtain. No Wi Fi No laundry facility

Liked: The hostel was in a great location and wonderfully clean!

Disliked: I did not know that cash payment was the only form accepted, it would have been nice to know before we arrived. Also, finding anyone that works there throughout the day was nearly impossible!

Liked: Huge Georgian house by the sea, medieval kitchen, beautifully furnished, didn't feel 'hostelly' at all. Free tea/coffee/breakfast most appreciated.

Disliked: Hard to find! Could do with a sign outside saying 'Totters'. Also, room next to communal bathrooms suffered from poor soundproofing and noisy till 1am with late showerers.

Liked: Friendly welcome. Excellent location. Clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Free tea, coffee, breakfast cereal, bread for toast and spreads left out on a help-yourself basis 24-hours.

Disliked: Too many stairs.

Liked: The location is amazing and the house is charming and decorated with love. We stayed in the family room and the beds were comfortable, the room was clean and there even were lockers in the room. The free breakfast in the morning consisted of bread, jams, Nutella, cereals and tea and coffee and was a good start for the day. I would definitely stay there again!

Disliked: Because the house itself is rather old, you can hear every move from the people staying in the room above you and if that's a group of guys on a stag do, this can be rather unpleasant during the night.

Liked: we needed a hostel following 3 peaks.....this was perfect......great location, atmosphere was relaxed and beds were comfy enough.......basement conversion is ideal and breakfast fine.......walking distance to good pub (black boy) and in the castle grounds would happily recommend

Disliked: shower pressure not best but good enough

Liked: Very clean. Manageress very friendly. hostel right in the centre of town. Vey clean and very homely atmosphere in a wonderful building of character.

Disliked: The showers are shared and there's no lock on the door which is a bit uncomfortable if strangers decide to use the showers at the same time. Also a t.v. facility in the room could be useful if it rains and you're staying a few days or more. Also, there's no parking facilities at the hostel itself. You have to take a chance that there's a space left at the Anglesey hotel. I managed to get a space this time but the last time i stayed, i didnt and took a chance to park by the harbour wall and found a £70 parking ticket waiting for me in the morning!

Liked: The building had character and the owners were friendly and helpful. It was a short distance to local amenities and the sea.

Disliked: I think the showers and toilets could have been designed with a little more privacy in mind; one toilet door did not lock.

Liked: Nice and homely hostel, owner was very friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend for anyone staying in Caernarfon.

Disliked: There were lockers but no keys, and no lock on the bedroom doors so security was minimal.
