BEST. HOSTEL. EVER!!! Not only was it very clean and very comfortable with the "expected" hostel amenities (wifi, free breakfast, dvd's - ensuite bathroom mega bonus!) but what sets this place apart…

Overview

Beacons Backpackers has room for up to 15 people in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, including bed linen, tea/coffee and toast. Here you will stay in Britain's most beautiful National Park. Private rooms are available and packed lunches can be provided. Reasonably priced meals are also available.

At Beacons Backpackers we offer clean, comfortable accommodation at affordable prices. In addition we serve great food and have a well stocked bar.

Our menu is ever changing so it would be impossible to keep it constantly updated here, but we will give you an idea of some local favourites. We use only the best local ingredients so you can be sure of a unique, delicious taste!

Thick Cut Ham, Free Range Egg and Chips

Locally produced Dragon Sausages served with Red Wine and Onion Gravy

New Inn Steak Burger served with Crispy Lettuce, Tomato and Onion in a Sesame Seed Bun with Tomato Relish and Mayonnaise

As well as many other dishes we also offer freshly prepared baguette

In the bar we have a great selection of leading lagers, wines, real ales, spirits, soft drinks, fruit juices as well as a range of hot drinks made by our state of the art Segafredo Coffee machine.

While you're here make sure you try one of our local Welsh ales or even our famous Toffoc toffee vodka!

Enjoy the comfort of our roaring fire in the winter months or enjoy sitting out in the sun over our beautiful Welsh summers.

Accommodation Information

At Beacons Backpackers we understand that a great night's sleep is half of your hostel experience! That's why we're proud to be so fussy about our rooms. Here we have some photos so you can see exactly how good they are!

Beacons Backpackers has room for up to 16 people in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. For an affordable extra cost (including linen, tea/coffee and toast) you can stay in Britain's most beautiful National Park. Private rooms are available and packed lunches can be provided. Reasonably priced meals and refreshments are available in the adjoining New Inn Pub.

Everything is kept clean, neat and tidy, fresh linen is provided and all there are three bathrooms available for a maximum of fifteen people. We also have our chill-out room available so guests can take a moment to relax, reflect or plan their next move! The chill-out room features sofas, chairs, magazine, a games console, maps, a television and tea/coffee making facilities.

Beacons Backpackers is located in the village of Bwlch in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Bwlch is located 8 miles outside of Brecon (15 minutes by car)

Brecon Beacons National Park spans 519 square miles (1,344 square kilometres) of beautiful mid-Wales countryside in the west of the UK which contains some of the most spectacular and diverse landscapes in Europe. Beacons Backpackers is in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, one of the most famous areas of outstanding natural beauty in the United Kingdom.

Your accommodation is just a yards from a bracing mountain walk and just a short trip from Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain peak in South Wales. Pen y Fan has a distinctive red table top summit - the highest Old Red Sandstone summit in Britain - as well as some of the UK’s most spectacular waterfalls, caves and wooded gorges. The landscape is scattered with prehistoric monuments, Roman remains, and medieval castles.

Visitors come from all over the world to enjoy this breathtaking landscape, and to reconnect with the natural world. While staying at Beacons Backpackers you can find relaxation and adventure, with some of Wales’ finest walking, riding, cycling, climbing and caving. In 2005, Fforest Fawr Geopark covering the western half of the National Park, was officially recognised for its superb geological heritage and diversity, when the National Park Authority was awarded membership of the highly prestigious European Geoparks Network. This was followed in 2006 by designation as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
