Liked: The place is very clean and confortable, the staff is friendly and helpfull and the location is really good. The breakfast is included in the price and you have free internet too. t's a nice place to stay.

Disliked: The only thing i can say is that the air conditioner was a little bit noisy.

Liked: The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent. It was just off the main road, meaning that while it was in the centre of all the action, it wasn't noisy.

Disliked: The only problem was that my aircon didn't work.

Liked: The staff here are incredibly helpful (especially Cherry and Eric), my other half had dengue fever whilst we were staying here and the staff could not have done more to make it as comfortable as possible. They let me use the phone to call the medical centre on numerous occasions and would not take any money and every day they asked how she was doing. It is situated down a litte alley way off Bui Vien right in the middle of backpackerdom which means it is a little bit away from all the noise. Our double room had a shared balcony which made for easy smoking access!

Liked: A budget hostel set back from the busy street, quiet, safe, and very clean. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Located in the heart of the backpacker district, with all the accompanying plusses and minuses. A good value for the money. Went back and stayed another weekend when we were in Saigon again, definitely would recommend it.

Disliked: Half of the rooms have windows, half don't. We had a windowless room our first stay and knew to ask for a window room the second stay...if a window matters to you, be sure to ask for it, even if you need to pay the extra $2.00.

Liked: Only the courtyard is nice. And one of the staff was exceptional.

Disliked: The staff was inconsistent with the agreed price earlier on. And told lies to cover their own mistakes when evidence was given. She was very rude as well. In addition, the prices charged on travel are always marked up higher than outside services. For example, the scooter rental was quoted USD 8 per day. When actually, rental places are quoting USD 6 per day. The coach ticket to Nha Trang quoted was USD 12. But upon further, investigation, the maximum ticket price was USD 9. I think to survive in Viet Nam, one has to be wary, especially when u r a foreigner. The locals always want to swindle more out from your pocket, even at the hostel that you are staying.

Liked: The Nhat Thao was our little hideaway in the hustle and bustle of HCMC. The staff was incredible friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very delicious and the little backyard just lovely. The hotel was very very clean and no undesired insects in sight. It is perfectly located in the city. Ben Than Market is in walking distance and all backpacking travel agencies close by. We enjoyed our stay at the Nhat Thao as it was quiet, located in a little back alley in the backpacker district. Thumbs up! We loved the place. Thank you so much again. We would love to come back one day!

Liked: Cliff notes: amazing staff, clean, great atmosphere, great location, great amenities, rooms, and I will definitely book here again my next time through Saigon. You won't find a more enjoyable stay for the price.The staff and owners here were wonderful, absolutely so; I have never been treated so well! The staff were extremely helpful and kind, they had good English skills, and they were a pleasure to talk to. They were able to recommend good places to eat, visit, etc, and went out of their way to help me when I needed it. I would recommend this place based solely on them. The room I had was quite spacious, with what I think was a queen sized bed (private single ensuite was booked), private shower, good AC unit, stocked fridge, drawers and a cabinet, a small table, two stools, a solo instant water heater unit (that was excellent and responsive), and a fairly large television with many channels. There was no window, though. The wifi was a bit sketchy on the upper floors, but there were numerous options, and I normally could get access even on the third floor. Connection speeds were good. In terms of cleanliness, the rooms were very nice. They were very clean with only a few, very small spots on the linens, there was cleaning service every day, laundry optional, and I noticed no pests of any kind (and the joints were all well sealed), although a few small lizards hung out in the communal area (never a bother and quite cute).There was a good communal area that regularly had others to talk to, with large televisions and free computer access, and a free breakfast (which I never tried). Prices for drinks from the fridges were reasonable, maybe 10K for a liter of water. The communal areas were very nicely decorated, with a fish pond, plenty of plants, a comfy couch, free books to read, and otherwise excellent ambiance.The location was excellent, right in the middle of things in the backpacker district, yet there were no noise or traffic issues as it was deep in an alleyway. The walls had great sound proofing, although a decent amount snuck through the door from the stairway during high traffic times. Safety was never a concern, as the front area was constantly watched by two staff members (and the alleyway always had some locals lounging about by a stand). The room doors only had handle locks, which I'm never fully satisfied with, but that seems to be the norm, c'est la vie. I never worried about my belongings regardless, and my personal safety was never a concern. There were no tout issues in the immediate vicinity of the place, although the street it was off of, being in the backpacker area, of course had plenty of them.

Liked: This is a GREAT place to stay. The staff is amazing- so friendly and they go out of their way to help you in any way they can. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bed is especially comfy! My husband and I both really liked it. The breakfast is decent - baugette with egg or jam, banana, REALLY good coffee or tea. The location is right in the middle of everything. Very busy (and loud) area, but the hotel is down a small alley so its more quiet than many of the other places around here probably are. We will stay here again if we're back in HCMC. Definitely a great place!

Disliked: Would like more fruit for breakfast since I'm vegan, but not a big deal.
