Matthew HoExcellent value for money. Easy to walk to Pham Ngu Lao backpacker district, Ben Thanh Market. Can book tours at the hotel (Cu Chi tunnels, Mekong Delta trips, etc..). Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms cleaned daily. More like a 3 star hotel than backpackers hostel! Includes breakfast - basic but a few choices. It's located in quiet side street, its open 24hrs but they have a gate that comes down and you need to press the bell and a guard will open it up for you. We found this out on our first night after arriving back at the hotel at 1am! Also, wifi and internet does not work very well. Very choppy. Better off going to internet cafe and paying 4,000 dong an hour ($0.22 US). Saigon Mini has a series of properties in the street. We stayed at Saigon Mini 1. When getting into taxi from the airport, ask that they turn the meter on. DEMAND is probably the better word. There is also NO TICKET FEE. Our driver demanded we pay a fixed price 100,000 dong + 50,000 ticket fee (total fee of 150,000 dong), which we did after a long flight and after a long debate. The hotel advised that the trip should cost around 100,000 to 120,000 dong and they had no idea about this bogus ticket fee (though in fairness the driver does appear to hand over something at the booth). When we took the taxi to the airport from the Don Khoi area, it only cost us 75,000 dong and no ticket fee. |

Debra Jenkinsthe staff are fantastic. Security guards help organise taxis and keep the drivers honest. the desk staff are absolutely fabulous. the rooms are clean, well supplied with extras such as tissues,hair dryer ,mini bar , and beautiful fluffy white towels. breakfast is excellent and very organized to prevent misunderstanding. we stayed two nights here one week apart and really appreciated the Saigon Mini on the last night. It compares very highly against other hotels of similar price. Slight disadvantage is it's position , which is close to all areas but definitely right in the middle,but the staff are very helpful giving directions to suitable areas for shopping, eating, sightseeing etc Highly recommended. |

Customer reviewThe room was fantastic and the people here are very helpful and easy to talk to. It was a big bonus to be able to have free access to the internet and security staff to help with the walk from the main street to the entrance of the hotel and also to move bags up and down the stairs. Fab breakfast options. Close to the touristy things some people want but far enough away to not get caught up in the mess of backpackers merriment. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! |

Brian PashelThis hotel was amazing. It has mini fridge with cheap beer, soda and water. A/C was good, location was perfectly accessible to backpacker area with great food and nightlife. The staff was really where this hotel shines. They were friendly, booked and picked up sleep bus tickets for us, recommeded excellent restaurants, and even called long distance to make reservations for us at our next destination in Vietnam. The included breakfast is good, computers for internet are super convenient, and they even allowed us to shower after Chu Chi Tunnels when we had checked out that morning. The price is unbeatable for all the ammenities and everything the staff does to go above and beyond. We're coming back at the end of our trip to fly home and will be staying again then. You will love Saigon Mini Hotel!! |

Customer reviewSaigon Mini is excellent value - the rooms are clean and well appointed, the free breakfast was really lovely and the staff were very helpful. The only issue was with the location - we would have preferred to be a little closer to the Ben Thanh market/Dong Khoi - but there is plenty of restaurants and a local market to explore in the immediate area. |
