Ype van StrienGreat place to meet other people and travellers, especially the happy hour is a good moment for that. Bathroom I was in could have been cleansed better, but fair enough. Great location, especially for wandering around in the Old Quarter. Budget tour to Ha Long Bay (3 days 2 nights by AST Travels, or something) is perfect value for money! |

Mike NichollsGreat for a group of backpackers but very hectic...it seems a stessful place to live. Staff are arrogant and rude though some are ok. BEWARE OF THE AMERICAN WHO WORKS HERE- NOT A NICE CHARACTER. |

Robert CryerMany of the travellers I met in the Hostel considerred this place the only place to stay! The staff are laid back, really helpful and honest - there are always plenty of staff on hand to help and for a solo traveller the backpackers hostels balcony bar upstairs is a great place to make new friends. Stay here if you want to come to a safe, clean place with a great atmosphere. You could find cheaper accomodation in Hanoi - but Hanoi Backpackers Hostel is worth the extra few dollars. |

Russell FrazierGreat location, very friendly and helpful staff, clean dorms. . . . all in all an efficient and very well run facility, especially considering the volume of business which it recieves. . . . however, a bit of a college party boy scene, at least during my stay, so if thats not your thing, you might want to look for something quieter. |

Jessica DaviesLots of people to meet, very sociable, clean and nice dorms. Was a bit noisy, especially if you get a first floor room, and the dorm doors don't lock (though you get a huge locker for all your stuff). If you're after an oasis of calm, this isn't the place for you! The staff are very experienced with backpackers and are helpful. Don't feel you have to book the rock long rock hard tour to Halong if you don't want to - the budget one ($40 US) was awesome, very nice 2-person cabins, same stuff included, good food (including for veggies) and less emphasis on the "let's all get wasted" - though still the opportunity for consuming lots of beer, singing karaoke and staying up to watch the sunrise. All in all, would recommend this hostel. |

Customer reviewClean place, but very inpersonal. Way too many people staying there and it was harder to get in touch with people than in smaller places. Staff was ok, but didn't really focus on your request but were talking to colleages and other guests in between. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. I would prefer a smaller place next time. By the way: If you book the Halong Bay tour with them, be aware they make you get up at 7.30 am on the second day. Not nice when you have been partying the night before. |

Customer reviewGood place to meet people, although expensive. Clean, good atmosphere. My tip: Find some people here and go to a cheaper other hotel the next night or so. |

Customer reviewOk if you want a party hostel (18-22) this is your place. Otherwise steer clear. Overprices tours and if you don't book with them they can get snotty. |

Customer reviewDon't go here if you want peace and quiet as it's lively and a great place to meet other people. But don't worry, the bars close early so it's nice and quiet at night (and there are other places to stay up and drink if you want to). The trips to Halong Bay and Sapa are good but the hostel prices are quite pricey - other places do it cheaper and just as good. Beds are really comfy with nice cosy duvet. Good bonus having free breakfast and all day tea and coffee |
