Liked: Very friendly staff, have great knowledge of the area. Prices for trains/buses can be a little steep - if you take 2 steps across the road you will often find that the majority of others places are cheaper.

Liked: Excellent trip to Sapa; great breakfast; super BBQ & Happy Hour on the roof; great place to meet people. Trip to Halong Bay was good fun but we found the tour guide Stacey rude & unhelpful so avoid his trip if you can! Overall, a great place to stay - we'd go back for sure.

Liked: It was clean and had an amazing spirit. An excellent premise to meet people and get help to plan trips ahead. I felt at home in the hostel despite being in a foreign land.

Liked: very clean, had lockers in the dorms, excellent travel / tour arrangements. hbh went out of their way to help me when the photos i had left to be developed at a photo shop took a day off on the day i went to pick them up and i was flying out of hanoi that day. if it wasn't for hbh, my photos will be stranded in vietnam!

Liked: Chang who was a member of staff. I fell in love with her during my 6 days in Hanoi- she is so polite and her smile brightened up my breakfast. Also awesome place to meet people

Liked: Particularly the fun place to stay and ease of meeting people - I literally walked in the door and was out partying as soon as I had worked out which bed was mine. The staff - James, Max et al - are superb, professional but fun and funny, the semi-regular guests like Scarface Steve the guitarist are just brilliant and every bit as helpful and amicable as the staff, security was no problem but I rated it down one notch from top whack purely because it was easy enough to leave electronics and things around, although technically it is easy to see that it COULD be a risk althoguh it never was.The only negative? Sightseeing is bloody difficult when every day you wake up and find yourself automatically in the middle of a party: if you want to not have to ever think about how to have a great time but for it to just happen to you, this place is the best I've ever seen.And I've been around a bit. So they say ;o)

Liked: free coffee and tea all day, free breakfast, free wifi, very clean, great staff, location was perfect for me (to take pictures--im a photographer), great price in comparison with hotels in the area
