Liked: One person was friendly upon arrival. Breakfast was good.

Disliked: Unclean and plumbing not in working order. No windows even though we requested a better room when it seemed available we could not have one. Also did not like the noisy, chaotic and smelly lane it was situated in.

Liked: The location is really good. Next to the old centre of Hanoi.

Disliked: We got room 409 and the room was real dirty. The beds are not clean, We had to wait for the room to be cleaned, but i'm sure they didn't. The bathroom was a real disaster, everything was leaking. The water of the shower almost get in your room. We asked for two seperated beds and we got one.

Liked: The property is in a great location and all the sights are either within walking distance of a short taxi away (they're cheap and the hostel will book you one). The hostel is actually called 'the world hostel' the name really needs changing! Originally we stayed in room 409.. a double room which was ok- it was nice and cool but not really the cleanest and i had to have a little spruce around before i felt comfortable staying. After a trip to Halong bay we returned and were put in room 102 which is a triple room (although just 2 of us) and its lovely, really clean and spacious- fan and air-con... brilliant!

Disliked: The first room we stayed in was on the top floor and it was shattering with no lift and heavy bags! The room left cleanliness to be desired although its definitely not filthy or anything! They kept randomly turning the air-con off to the room.... grrr this is really annoying because on the first night we woke up in the morning sweaty ALOT- still, if you went and told them they turned it straight back on!

Liked: Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Value for money. Good location. Each rom has own ensuite & cable TV.

Disliked: I thought wifi would be in the rooms, but it was not. The cheapest rooms are without a window and the bathroom is a bit mouldy (although not unclean in other respscts.)

Liked: friendly staff

Disliked: staid here four night, the first night i was transferred to anpther guest house which had a leaking cealing of the bathroom, the second night I slept in a room that turned out to be their own sleeping room:101, smelled like piss. The last two nights I slept in the room I did reserve and that one was actually great. breakfast was great, just neglect the cockroaches and mice in the rooms.... Conclusion: staff is nice and when you actually get the room you booked it is good value for money, else never mind...

Liked: They upgraded us to the family room for same cost. Hot water, breakfast included, very helpful staff, matched our tour ticket prices. Free cups of tea all day! (coffee and lemon juice also free if thats more to your taste). Really great place

Disliked: The tv had dodgy reception when we stayed here two days later in just a normal twin roon but thats just a tv which your lucky to get anyway. If thats all youve got to complain about then you gota be happy!

Liked: Its an old house in the old quarter, friendly staff. The aaranged a tour for ha long bay and it went perfectly! Very friendly and helpfull staff. Free breakfast. Great value for money.

Disliked: To get here at night it get a little dark. other than that is ok.

Liked: the staff were friendly and helpful

Disliked: the rooms, the lack of safety for our stuff, the fact that we had to check in and wait for our key because some guy hadn't check out or returned it.

Liked: The building has a quite homey feel, and is welcoming for lone travelers and families alike, much like a guesthouse even. The staff were always receptive if you wanted to take advantage of the free drinks and would try to help make your stay in Hanoi as good as possible. The place is near a lot of the backpacker bars, and is in a slightly cheaper part of town than the Hoan Kiem Lake area. I will be recommending this hostel to all of my friends if they visit Hanoi.

Disliked: Well, you can't stay there for free, but that's about it.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Location was not as close to the centre as described and the particular street was too quiet walking back from the centre, I didn't feel particularly safe on my own over there. Rooms was nothing like the picture and they lost my favorite T-shirt in the laundry...

Liked: nothing- we changed hostel

Disliked: the staff didnt care that we were there at all, barely spoke English and the rooms were not nice. The alley it was down was where they were preparing lots of meat and it smelt so bad that my partner and i were both gagging. we found another hostel to stay at!

Liked: i have nothing to like in this guesthouse, bad experience for my first night in hanoi !

Disliked: everything is broken in my room and leaking everywhere in the bathroom and also the handle on the door, smelly everywhere and dirty location !
