This was a very clean ,very friendly ,mid –range hotel. The location is the most convenient in Hanoi .You can walk to the puppet theatre ,Hoan Kiem lake ,good restaurants or the main Post office ,all in less than 5 minutes. The rooms aren’t huge but the air /con works well, very clean and there’s lots of hot water . There were some Pc at lobby for Internet using freely and also wifi. Staff were great and honest. The morning buffet breakfast part Viet Namese part western ,is fair quality for this price range. Highly recommend this hotel!

After staying here for 2nights I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very nice to look at, although it is not as extravagant as some of the others I have seen. But for the price I will not complain. The helped me do anything I need and left me alone when I needed nothing. Every morning I was greeting with many hellos and smiles and was served a lovely breakfast. They do have a full menu as well and I actually ate here on one of my first nights, since I was too tired to go out. The food was decent, nothing to rave about but atleast they put effort into it. I recommend contacting them by email. When I did I was given a cheaper price than posted on their website and even offered a free night if I booked for 4 days. The only thing I need to mention is that my room had a leak behind the bathtub that ran along beside the toilet. So when using the facilities for the first time my socks got soaked, this is why they only get 4/5. Again the staff is extremely friendly and the manager "Kenny" even offered to help me look for a job by introducing me to one of her friends. Long story short.....I recommend this hotel for short stays and first timers to the city like myself. "I forget to mention that my linen was changed daily and the internet worked almost all the time (which I understand is the norm for Hanoi). The hotel website does say wifi but gave me a cable to use when the wifi didn't work."

Outstanding location where the Old Quarter meets the French Quarter. The rooms we stayed were absolutely fantastic, spotless and well presented. We received fresh flowers and wonderful baskets of tropical fruit each day. The staff did everything possible to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was very good and for free. The hotel had a book exchange service and provides travel guidbooks and maps to make sure you dont miss anything. Our room Internet connection, cable TV and a huge balcony looking towards the Old Quarter and each day was always very quickly and very cleanly prepared. Kenny and Duc Anh and their terrific staff were a great source of local info and with their guidance. We really enjoyed our wonderful time in Hanoi. Five star service for a real world price. We ended up staying for 2 nights and could have stayed forever.

I would've rated this hotel much higher until they tried to rip me off. I booked a tour through them (which was very average) as well as taxi rides to the airport (fairly priced). When I asked about paying they gave me the price in Dollars but I wanted to pay in Dong and the manager multiplied the number by 19,000. When I told him that was not the rate he went into a load of rubbish about how he would have to exchange anything I gave him in Dong into USD! I pointed out we were in Vietnam and he didn't HAVE to exchange anything into USD as everyone here accepts the local currency. He thought this was hilarious but stuck with his exchange rate. I refused to pay as his exchange rate worked out at us paying $20 more than the usual rate - that equals an extra night stay! Once he had left, I spoke to his assistant and she agreed a lower rate with me, which was acceptable. Given I had changed $200 with the hotel earlier in the week at the usual rate, this was fine but it seemed the manager was just trying to rip people off and line his pockets. I wonder how many more people have fallen for this? Be careful, and watch his maths!

Heartily recommend this hotel in Hanoi - the proprietor is a fabulous guy - couldn't do enough to help us with bookings and teaching us the Vietnamese language - followed up on everything to make sure it was good, great recommendations for streetside restaurants - hotel room were very clean, large with balcony and very reasonably priced, and well located in a colourful quarter of Hanoi, within easy walking distance of most of the sights. Staff were great and we love them most. Highly recommend for Sunrise Hotel Hanoi!

Great place - great location - nice respite from the crazy honking Hanoi outside! Staff was super helpful in booking plane tickets to our next place and a Halong Bay tour which was great, too. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable, and I slept well despite all the honking outside. The staff is what makes the difference as first timers really need advice to not get taken (monetarily) in Hanoi, and they were very kind. I felt we could really trust them!

Very nice and helpful staff. They help us to organise a nice trip to Parfum Pagoda and 2-days cruise on Ha Long Bay, at reasonable price. Simple but very good breakfast. Rooms quite big and clean. The most disadvantage was lack of lift. Good localisation, just five minute walk to Water Puppet Show and one minute from great restauration Highway4. We stayed even one night more than we had planned. Don't take their open bus ticket, you can easily find better standard for less money. Place worth its price.

The room we had was extremely comfortable including a mini bar fridge, tv, balcony and hot shower and bathroom! For the price we paid it was extremely good value and was in a great location just a 10 minute walk from the Hanoi river. Recommended for sure!

aircon worked well in room, staff were quick to respond to mouse in room, despite being very hostile earlier due to us going somewhere else for tour and trying to take my card details despite me already paying!!! when we turned up to the hotel we were told air con was broken (they had double booked room) took us to another hotel (swiftly) when we went to pay they tried to charge us for extra room. we thought this was a one off experience but heard them saying exact thing to another couple.going to look for somewhere else when we return to Hanoi at end of tour!!!!

We stayed fit climbing the 6 flights of stairs to our room and had a personalised tour of the city cultural sights organised by the staff at the front desk - which was fantastic.
