Liked: Very friendly and helful staff, great location. Easy to reach from aiport by bus 17 (some 10-15 min walk from the last stop). The room is comfortable. The bathroom is basic but there is hot water so OK.

Disliked: The only downside is some noise coming from the street traffic.

Liked: of the five hostels I stayed in my SE asia trip this was the nicest. the minibus from the airport will get you downtown for 35,000 vnd but they charged 50,000 as the bus was half full. the hostel is easy to find about a block from the lake. I had a private room which had a really large bed with a flat screen tv. shower had hot water which was rare in SE asia. staff is very friendly and speak good english. they will exchange US dollars for you. free internet, breakfast included, and free water bottles. all the city sights and lake are walking distance and they give a map. they had a choice of three halong bay tours. the one they recommended was sold out but their second choice for the same price was available. tour was good but lunch was not enough so bring food. facebook is blocked but they have a software that will let you in if you ask them to show you. no foreign news channels in vietnam but good movie channels. nice place if you need to rest and recharge. water puppet theatre is also close but buy tickets ahead as they sell out. i left my luggage here all day when i went on the halong bay tour and they arranged a taxi to the airport when i got back. there is a supermarket a block away but easy to miss so ask them to tell you where.

Disliked: this is a noisy street and you will hear traffic vibrations. they offered to change my room but i didnt think it would make a difference. hot water runs out after a few minutes. but i would definately stay here again.

Liked: The owner and staff were very friendly, going out of their way to help. The room was clean, the free wifi reliable and the breakfast more than enough for me (bread roll, jam, butter and tea). I would recommend this as a comfortable, quiet, friendly place to stay.

Disliked: The shower was not what I'm used to as it is more of a wet room with a toilet, than a stand alone shower. However, there was hot water and the shower head was at a good height for someone who is slightly taller than average, so can't really complain.

Liked: The location and friendliness of the staff here made our stay here a fantastic experience. The staff went out of their way to help us on multiple occasions. The room was reasonable in size and clean. The free breakfast delivered to our room was a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again if staying in Hanoi.

Liked: Tony is extremely helpful, organising tours and bus tickets for us and recommending sights and restaurants nearby. Very good location in the Old Quarter of Hanoi too - short walk takes you to everything you need. Comfortable rooms, cable and decent pressure in the showers (a nice luxury in Asia). Tip: Take the hotel's offer of a taxi service from the airport - costs the same as a regular taxi and delivers you to the door without any hassle.

Liked: Perfect place to stay for a few nights. The facilities/room are first class, true value for money. Tony the manager is just great. Really makes the place. Always offered a cup of tea, coffee, beer when in reception and always up for a chat. The location is also good, close to the lake and bus stops. I stayed here when i first came to Hanoi and i stayed here again on my way out of Hanoi, repeat business...enough said. Highly recommended. A+++.............oh and also room service breakfast!!! too good

Disliked: I stayed an extra day because i didn't want to leave!!!

Liked: We stayed at Golden Time Hostel on 3 occasions and we don't have a bad word to say. Tony and all the staff here are incredibly helpful, going out of their way to help us. We also arranged tours through the hostel to Sapa and Halong Bay. Tony also helped us out when we got into a sticky situation with some train tickets in Sapa. The rooms are clean and comfortable and it is in a great location. Just 5 minutes to the old quarter. I would definitely recommend it to anyone coming to Hanoi.

Liked: It is really good place, good and clean rooms and the staff is excelent! Everyday good breakfast, in the room or in reception. I really recommend it!

Liked: Rooms were very clean and spacious, enjoyed the little things such as free shampoo, toothbrushes and getting room made up every day (which isn't usually the way in Asian hostels). Location was good, only 10 mins walk away from the old quarter. The best thing however was the staff service. The manager Tony could not have done more for us; he booked us onto a great Halong Bay tour, made us Vietnamese tea to try and even gave us a ride on the back of his moto to his recommended restuarant when we bumped into him on the street! Would stay there again if we ever go back to Hanoi.

Disliked: Breakfast could improve, but since it was included in the room, can't really complain!

Liked: We arrived very early after an overnight train from Sapa and the front door clerk let us in with a smile even though we had woken him. He made us coffee and breakfast even though we hadn't stayed there the night before. We were allowed to leave our luggage when we went out for the day and when we got back they had moved it to our room. The rooms are lovely, clean and spacious with all new furnishings. I cannot recommend this hostel enough.

Liked: The people in the hotel is soooo friendly, they try to help us in everyway. They booked an AMAZING halong bay tour for us. They were waiting when we came back with the same great attitud. The hotel is small but very cozy.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful, helping us out with a very awkward taxi driver, places to eat, and finding us somewhere to stay when we arrived back in Hanoi.

Disliked: Getting breakfast in bed is great but, the only problem with this hostel is the lack of a restaurant/place for breakfast

Liked: Nice Hotel, Nice staff, good english speakers. Rooms are clean, and the boss is very gentle.

Disliked: The staff is so nice that they give our room to other tourists which have issues with their departure flight. We lost our second day reservation in the hotel.., without any notification to us. We had to change hotel and find a less interesting hotel. Thanks to the boss of the hotel which tried to do his best for finding a good hotel.

Liked: I felt very well taken care of at this hostel. The location is great, I walked everywhere. The beds are big and comfy and I enjoyed the wifi, TV and A/C in the room. I also booked my trip to Halong Bay as well as another day trip through the hostel and everything worked well. Would definitely stay here again!

Liked: Especially the service of the staff was really good! They are really friendly and really want to help you. The rooms are really nice! Although the bathrooms of some rooms are a little bit to small. We really recommend this place to other tourists.

Disliked: We notice that the communication between the different organisations is not that good. When you book a tour they do not give you all the information you need, so you really need to ask what to bring with you and a copy of the program.

Liked: Probably the best hostels in Hanoi, golden time hostel. located in the heart of the old town and at a reasonably price they provide very tasteful and spotless rooms. My husband and I stayed and found the staff of places exceptional friendly and professional. They will do almost anything to make your stay enjoyable. .. My husband and I would like to express our very special thanks to the manager Mr. tony and the staff of hostel for all the help and kindness that we experienced during our stay
