Liked: Wow!!! Never in all of my travels have I come across such welcoming, friendly, and attentive staff. They go out of their way to help in any way they can, answer questions, offer drinks, etc. The dorm was always clean and the beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was great and always served so quickly. When our Halong tour was cancelled due to the weather the refund was sorted out quickly and beds were kept for us in the dorm at late notice. I am confident you could not find higher quality accommodation at this price range anywhere else in the city. Lastly, what other hostel or hotel anywhere is going to get you a cake for your birthday??! How thoughtful and generous of them! I'm so glad I stayed here and hope to return in the future. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in Hanoi!

Liked: The "Little" group has 3 hostels in Hanoi, all around the lake. We were allocated to 2 on the western shore. All I need to say about the place is that I recently wrote a review of the Baanrimtaling in Chiang Khong, Thailand in which I found an excuse to knock a point off them on the basis that I never give anyone 100 percent. This time I am unable to find even a flimsy excuse for knocking a point off so for the first time in a fairly exstensive travelling career I am forced to admit defeat and give full marks to this wonderful establishment. Go there!

Liked: This is definitely the best hostel I have ever stayed. The staff are super helpful. The price is reasonable. Rooms are clean and convinent. If I ever come back again, I will stay here.

Liked: Everyone was very helpful. We were able to buy plane tickets, bus tickets and get a series of information right at the hostel. They even tiped us with restaurants of their own choosing that were great! The rooms were very clean and quiet.

Liked: People are extremely friendly and helpful. Never had such a pleasant welcome before (while travelled to many places). Absolutely recommend this place - clean, good location, rooms are good value for money and decent, large beds with cleaned linnen every day.

Disliked: Dorm is a bit cramped (but what can you expect for $5 a night?)

Liked: The staff were great here - really helpful. They booked a trip to Halong Bay for us and kept a room for us when we returned.

Disliked: The room was very small. Also, we got moved to Little Hanoi Hostel 3 when we did get back to Halong Bay (for the same price). We had to wait for a taxi to bring us there, but we didnt have to pay for it.

Liked: The Little Hanoi Hostel is fantastic. It's great value for money- hotel standard, comfortable room at hostel prices- and has a really friendly atmosphere. The staff could not have been more helpful. When I arrived at 5am they gave me free breakfast and allowed me into my room at 8am, hours before check-in began. Tony in particular was so friendly and always happy to give useful tips on what to visit, where to eat etc. The hostel also has a wide range of tours available for Halong Bay, Sapa etc. which it offers good prices for and honest advice. I booked a great trip to Halong Bay on Tony's advice. The breakfast is fairly standard for SE Asia- bread with eggs/cheese/jam etc or noodles, but the hostel stands apart from others by the fact that large plates of fresh fruit are provided at breakfast and in your rooms + you can get tea and coffee free at any time of the day. I would definitely recommend this hostel- it was the best place I stayed in in the whole of SE Asia.

Liked: The best hotel in Vietnam. Lovely clean rooms, with fresh fruit delivered daily. Kim and the staff are amazing!! They go above and beyond to help and make you feel welcome, and give you really personal and friendly service. Great location a short walk from lots of sights. Highly recommended!!

Liked: The property was clean and comfortable.

Disliked: The dorm we had was slightly small for 6 people. The staff were ok but they misinformed us about a museum opening times which meant we missed it. One of the guys at reception also barged into our room without knocking in the morning telling us we should be up because we'd booked some motorbikes. We found this very rude and uncomfortable seeing as we were all getting ready and it was inappropriate. It also wasn't necessary as we are capable of getting up on time!

Liked: The young lady on reception was very helpful. Advised us on transport options to get to Hong Kong and booked the bus for us. Good selection for breakfast to choose one from. room spacious, clean, had air-con and fan. Fresh fruit each day in room. Good location, we were able to walk to the Water Puppet Show and the Cathedral. Lady at reception helped us with getting taxi safely when needed. Free pick-up from the airport was fantastic, especially because we arrived around midnight. Gave us bottled water and bread upon check-in as all shops were closed at that time of night.

Disliked: Was a bit of effort to get breakfast ten minutes earlier than the stated breakfast hours on our morning of departure.

Disliked: At peak times (around 7-8am when everybody is checking out), service is limited because everybody was checking out. As long as you avoid this time to ask for questions/services, your stay should be a pleasant one.

Liked: The staff where friendly and very helpful made for a pleasant stay. The location of little hanoi hostel 1 was very handy for the old quarters.

Disliked: We stayed in the little hanoi 2 after returning from our Halong bay trip before heading to the airport the following day. I just found the location of little hanoi 2 to be out of the way in comparison to their other location. Perhaps if this is where I stayed from the start I wouldn't of minded the location.

Liked: The staff were incredibly hospitable & helpful, The room was comfortable, clean, quiet and attractive. The staff organised a wonderful tour of Hatlong Bay for me, seeming to take no commission for themselves (I later discovered after talking to others on the tour who had booked over the internet & directly through the tour provider), did not charge me for the nights I was away even though I had already booked them & stored my luggage during my absence.

Disliked: The breakfast was ordinary (though cheerfully served), there was no elevator & the lobby had a bit of a backpacker rather than hotel vibe.

Liked: Great location, with clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was really nice. Very handy to organise tours to Sapa and Halong which were great but probably and bit more expensive than doing on your own.

Disliked: Had room in the front of the building for 1st night with really loud music from 9.30-11.30pm but when mentioned the next morning we were moved to a room at the back which was much quieter. Also dont leave stuff loose in the entrance lobby, left my phone to charge between 6.30 & 7.30am when only staff were there sleeping and when I came back from getting water it was gone. Manager very nice about it and gave us a free room for the night. Bags seem safe there, just hide valuables well.
