Liked: This is a fabulous hostel/hotel that is situated in the Old part of town and is close to great shopping, night markets, food. The staff are so friendly and lovely and will show you where to get great traditional Vietnamese food - restaurants/street stalls and give you directions for anywhere you need to go. They provide free breakfast (even past 12pm if you wake up too late) and tea and coffee all the time too. The showers are hot, the rooms with balcony's with fresh towels every day. Our stay here was so great, thank you very much Kangaroo Hotel you made out stay in Hanoi such a great experience we will definitely be returning!

Disliked: Perhaps the reception area could be bigger to meet more people

Liked: The staff are so friendly and very helpful. We didn't book the taxi in advance,but when we arrived at the airport,we called the hotel to arrange a pick up for us and it was easy and fast.Besides, they suggested a cheap Halong Bay tour for us but worth.We requested a coffee every time we went in and out of the hotel everyday but they didn't charge.They clean our room everyday.

Disliked: Nothing that I don't like but just a matter to improve the hotel,i would like to suggest if the hotel can put a small carpet in the room because during winter, the floor is very cold and most asian people will take off their shoes before entering the room :-)

Liked: Amazing staff - they can resolve any problem and are so nice . We also got great breakfast for free. The rooms are huge and really clean by Asian standards (absolutely NO insects :) ) We decided to stay here a few days more. Also the location is perfect.

Disliked: Our stay here was ruined by a bunch of extremely primitive Brits and their Dutch ladies who unfortunately became our neighbours but the hotel was to blame .

Liked: Staff extremely friendly and helpful at all times, they really go beyond expectations to help you out. Room decent and clean. Location good, just 15 min walk to the lake. Great value for money. Highly recommended!

Liked: Very central - friendly helpful owners. Make sure to have your booking printed off to avoid confusion about the room price etc. Nice double rooms.

Liked: very friendly and helpful staff! We came back from a Halong Tour and caught a night bus right afterwards. They let us use the shower in a room without charging anything. It's a great place!
