Juan Griego is THE backpack town of Margarita!! Only 20 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from the ferry it's the best start on this beautifull Island.
Juan Griego is a small fishing town in the northwest of the island, situated close to beautiful Playa Caribe beach. Juan Griego is a friendly and colourful place and has many stores offering Free Port merchandise at excellent prices.
Along its palm-fringed beach are several restaurants offering local gastronomy
with the bonus that Juan Griego faces west; hence the sunsets over the sea here are breathtaking.
The Fortin, know as El Fortin de la Galera is an interesting fort at the edge of town and was where local heroes gallantly held out against the Spanish, representing a proud moment in the town’s history.

There are 10 double rooms. Five of them have a sea view and 5 are situated next to the tropical garden. All the rooms have a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Eight rooms have air conditioning and the other 2 rooms have an electric fan.
In the Cafe Copa Cabana you can enjoy a delicious breakfast every morning.
The bar is open all day and besides the cold beers ( € 0,40) and the tropical cocktails (€ 2,00) you can also play pool or darts. There is a lounge corner where you can read a book or watch television after a very busy (!) day.
Tip: when you finished your book, leave it behind for other quests.
