Liked: Friendly staff and verly close to Metro

Disliked: The bed and mattress need to be replaced. When you have a milk crate proping up the bed frame, you worry. Heavy smkoing inside means that there is a strong smell of smoke throughout the house - not good for those with breathing problems

Liked: Low price, friendly people.

Disliked: Smoking. The entire building is filled with it. Only 3 bathrooms. Climate control was horrible, building was either baking (heaters on) or freezing (at night after lights out the heat is turned off).

Liked: There is a free use computer with internet. Far from the city center but the metro stop is just next to the hostel. There is a "7-eleven" supermarket next to the hostel too.

Disliked: Some people of the hostel don't care for the people that is sleeping. At night they shout, run, play guitar...horrible, expecially the night of saturday. In the mornings the bathrooms (3 in all the house) are always busy but clean. We had a private room so the security was ok (have to leave a deposit of 5$ for the room key). The owner leave us pay the stay only with cash. The same boy was sleeping in a sofa the days we stayed there. The people smoke inside the house.

Liked: The location was ok, next to a metro station.

Disliked: I normally don't bother writing reviews, but I just felt like I had to say something about this hostel. The staff was really rude and unhelpful, doors were kept open 24/7, there was no lock for the dorm room at all, the hostel was really dirty and there were random people sleeping on the sofas downstairs every night. I've stayed in a lot of hostels around the world and this is by far one of the worst. I'm sure you can find lots of better places for same price in Washington.

Disliked: Matresses not comfortable My flight was delayed a whole day but they still charged me for the night I didnt sleep there. I understand the 24 hour cancellation policy but i emailed them straight away and they would even give me it for half price.

Disliked: aircondition not availiable, only 3 bathrooms - sometimes longer waiting time especially in the morning

Liked: Location, WiFi access was good, people staying there were very cool!

Disliked: It was dirty and the beds were ridiculous with ill-fitting linen which meant you stuck to the plastic sheets. There were only three bathrooms for everyone which meant long queues and inevitably dirty showers.

Liked: Chilled little hostel, met some great people, most the staff were pretty nice- decent patio for drinks and a BBQ. Clean kitchen

Disliked: Only 3 showers and one had a really dodgy lock. No A.C. One big guy who worked there( and was always on) was really grumpy and rude- worst customer service skills ever- if they sack him this place would be really sweet.

Liked: Nothing. In all honesty I tried to get out of there as soon as I could.

Disliked: The property was in disrepair, filthy, not safe and ill-managed. I get bed bug bites and when I asked to change my bed linen the next day because of the bites the owner shrugged and said "could be heat rash". There is virtually no security and no clear way of telling who is running the hostel (plus the "office hours" are terrible) so people can come in and go. There are lockers but they are too small to fit even a carry on luggage and you have to buy the lock for 4 dollars. The bathrooms and rooms were disgusting. No airconditioning. When I went to check in all the reservations were made in a handwritten spiral notebook that was completely disorganized. This is not how I want anything involving my money, health and safety run. The owners would curse in front on the guests complaining about the refrigerator, were unwelcoming and nonchalant. This was honestly the worst place that I have ever stayed out out of the 30+ hostels I have been to. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else. With this terrible service they are just looking for your money and they don't deserve it.

Liked: Some of the rooms are nice, but others are not clean.

Disliked: Quite hot and humid when I stayed there. The fans could not really cool down the rooms.

Liked: It is really cheap and very close to the Takoma metro station. The staff (Ernesto and his wife) are really nice.

Disliked: The place is rather old and when I arrived (at 9 am), nobody was there to open the door. So I had to wait for around 20 minutes. There were also many people sleeping on the sofas when we arrived.

Liked: The location was amazing and the value for the money makes this a great choice for the budget traveller.

Disliked: The hostel has no expectation for it's guests to be quiet...ever. Be prepared to deal with obnoxious loud people at all hours.

Disliked: complete lack of any kinds of security, the bunk beds are about to fall apart

Liked: It was very close to the Metro station and a 24-hour 7-11.

Disliked: There weren't lockers for keeping our items, nor did we get keys for our rooms. Overall, I felt like it wasn't the safest hostel in regards to the possibility of theft.

Liked: Great location, very near the subway, great access to shops, the place was lovely free internet,kitchen and TV.Great House

Disliked: There are no locks on the bedroom doors, but you can lock your stuff up down stairs, i felt totally safe leaving my stuff in my room anyway

Disliked: Unorganized. Do not have a database saying who is staying in which room which means we had people from the front desk giving people keys to our room.
