Liked: The room is very big. It can contain more than 8 people in same room. If you want to have good rest there, you'd better choose some high class hotel. But if you want to have fun, this is your choice.

Liked: Great back yard with hammock and plenty of room to socialize, couches on patio and patio sets to eat at. There is a balcony on the 2nd story. The property is extremely close to a metro station (Takoma) making it very easy to get around the city. The owner and staff were very friendly. We stayed over the Easter weekend and they organized an easter egg hunt with prizes as well as egg-painting in the evening along with an Easter supper free of charge! It was great place to get to know people from all over the world.

Liked: It has a friendly atmosphere, the backyard is awesome and the kitchen is big and inviting. The location was a bit out of downtown DC but it's just 15-20 minutes away by Metro. The staff are friendly and helpful and fun.

Liked: The only good thing was leaving this hostel. There is no security at all in this hostel. Anyone can get in as the door remains wide open until late at night and there are no room locks. There is only 3 bathrooms with showers for an estimated 70 people. So if three people shower at one time, you cant use the toilet. Ridiculous! The kids sheets provided are so worn out and thin and lets not forget to mention the plastic protectors they have on the beds. 1 fan per room of 8 people in the middle of August...disgusting! There is one computer to use for the internet. I cant believe this hostel is rated so highly...beware!

Liked: One of the best hostels ive stayed in, simply because it is cosy and inviting. Definitely worth the 15 min metro trip from DC centre

Liked: not much. there was a mouse problem at the house. the kitxhen and loungeroom had mice running across the floor whenever we were there. also ppl are permitted to smoke in the house which was not good at all. in this day and age no one should be allowed to smoke inside!

Liked: Great place with a very social and friendly atmosphere. Right by the Metro stop and just 10-15min into all the main site and museums. The only downer is the lack of bathrooms means queing in the mornings. But that didn't proove too much hassle. If I return to DC, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Liked: This place is awesome. We stayed over the Christmas period (xmas day) and we could not of asked for anywhere better. It's so homely and not sterile like many other hostels. The staff are fantastic and so helpful. Best hostel for me and I have been travelling for 7 months

Liked: The atmosphere was pretty good in this hostel, nice laid back vibe and good facilities. Cleanliness was not so good though, chewing gum in my bed and a used earplug in my boyfriend's bed. Staff were ok, but not particularly friendly. Great location, steps away from subway and the area seemed fine. Our big problem with this hostel is that you cannot lock your dorm door. In all the other hostels we have stayed in you all had a key or card to get in the dorm but here our door did not even shut.
