The people were friendly - very friendly. The location was a little away from the city centre, however, the metro was very close by so that make it easier to get around.

Its proximity to the Takoma Park Metro stop was excellent. The organic food co-op nearby is also very nice. Fridges to store food/drinks were a plus.

I loved it! The staff was so nice and super friendly. They made it easy to be comfortable there. The place is very homey and comfortable it was hard not to love it. It's super close to the metro which is wonderful after a long day of site seeing. It was just so lovely I didn't want to leave.

The facilites are really good with loads available to guests. Also it has a very homily feel with all the staff making you feel welcome. It is also a place to get to know people and have fun.

This hostel was an experience on it's own! The staff was really friendly, everyone was really cool, and it's just a sweet place to spend some time in Washington, I'd stretch to say that the hostel was better than the city...

Hilltop Hostel was clean, cozy, safe, and home-y. Good, safe neighborhood, great organic supermarket a few blocks down. Takoma Metro was just down the street. The people there were really nice. I made some new friends and had a great time. If you are ever in the DC area, you should definitely stay here. Don't waste your money on expensive hotels!
