Liked: Close to most of the sights, staff, facilities. However a bit expensive to pay around 30 $ for a ten bed dorm. If the room is full, it does 300 $ each night !! and we don't have privacy, nor television, nor toilet/ bathroom inside.... Ten bed dorms should be no more than 20 $ anywhere in the states !!! All because of the lack of competition.

Liked: Good mix of people- a bit of younger crown- with some notable exceptions. Although on a map it looks like it's quite far out from everything, it really is a simple as come out of the hostel turn left - keep walking for about 10 mins and you're on pensylvania ave and everything is from there. it's practically impossible to get lost. the rooms- while basic and a litlle degraded are comfortable warm and there isn't too much sound leak from rooms nearby. it ttracts some of the nicer people in hostels i've been too and the adams morgan pub crawl with mark on a sat is nothing short of legendary- if you're there do it i promise you wont be disappointed. basically if you're going to DC and want value for money this is the place

Liked: I didnt like it at all. It's dirty, uncomfortable, staff is really rude, and facilities are really limited. The only good thing is the location, but you can get something really much better for the price in a real hotel.

Liked: Safe neighborhood, but you still hear a lot of sirens at night. Bring your own lock for the lockers, I didn't have any hot water when I showered. Nevertheless, I had a great stay, I would stay there again.

Liked: The last day we asked for a luggage room and they said it costs 4$!!! It doesn-t matter if you left it for one hour or all the day. Then we asked if in the train station there are lockers and they said NO, but when we arrived there, obviously there are lockers!!!Also they prepared a chili dinner, then converted in pizza's dinner but they didn't creat the atmosphere for meet new people...

Liked: One of the best HI hostels (indeed hostels) I've stayed in across the world. Clean, secure, friendly and very helpful staff who provide service with a smile. Excellent eco credentials, free shampoo, body wash, towels and bedding and they buy in bananas for guests to chomp for free. No danger of decreasing potassium levels here! Dorm set-up to provide as much privacy as possible and plenty of free tours, entertainment and dining/movie nights in which to engage and meet fellow travellers. Ideally situated for public transport or walking to the sights.

Liked: This hostel had excellent facilities and activities. A full buffet breakfast was provided with six cereals, bread/toast, bagels, muffins, fruit salad, juice and tea/coffee. If you participate in activities, you also get free meals e.g. social night with chili or craft with pizza. It is only one block away from the MegaBus bus station and easy walking distance to all of the monuments and museums. Definitely a good place to stay in DC.
